<\/p>\nLeeds animal lovers are gearing up for the RSPCA\u2019s annual One Fun Day, set to take place at Temple Newsam on Saturday, June 14. The event, organised by the RSPCA Leeds, Wakefield & District Branch in partnership with Leeds City College, promises a day packed with fun, community spirit, and support for animals in need.<\/p>\n
Running from 10am to 3pm, the Summer Fun Day and Dog Show will feature a variety of activities, including games, stalls, food and drink, entertainment, and the popular dog show sponsored by Bob & Bell\u2019s Dog Grooming, starting at noon. Visitors can also enjoy guided tours of Home Farm, led by students from the School of Animal Care and Land Management.<\/p>\n
All funds raised will directly benefit the RSPCA Animal Centre in East Ardsley, helping to provide vital care for rescued animals. The centre is currently at risk of closure, making this event a crucial fundraiser for the branch.<\/p>\n

The Leeds event is one of more than 60 One Fun Day celebrations taking place nationwide, coinciding with the RSPCA Founders Weekend. This weekend marks the anniversary of the charity\u2019s founding on June 16, 1824, by 22 passionate people, including vicar Arthur Broome and MP William Wilberforce, who were determined to improve animal welfare.<\/p>\n
As the UK\u2019s oldest animal welfare charity, the RSPCA has been instrumental in rescuing and rehoming animals and advocating for animal protection laws for over 200 years. One Fun Day offers communities across the country the chance to unite in celebration and support for this important cause.<\/p>\n
A spokesperson for the Leeds branch said: \u201cWe can\u2019t wait to celebrate with our supporters, both old and new. Events like these are vital for raising funds to keep our doors open and continue our work helping animals.
