{"id":173907,"date":"2025-06-10T21:08:10","date_gmt":"2025-06-10T21:08:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/173907\/"},"modified":"2025-06-10T21:08:10","modified_gmt":"2025-06-10T21:08:10","slug":"celtic-backed-to-sign-natural-predator-even-though-they-are-talking-about-him-going-to-rangers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/173907\/","title":{"rendered":"Celtic backed to sign &#8216;natural predator&#8217;, even though &#8216;they are talking about him going to Rangers&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Brendan Rodgers has always spoken about wanting three strikers at Celtic.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>During the recently concluded season, Kyogo Furuhashi and Adam Idah were the men leading the line at the start, before <a href=\"https:\/\/www.67hailhail.com\/news\/what-adam-matthews-told-shamrock-rovers-players-about-johnny-kenny-making-it-at-celtic\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Johnny Kenny returned from his loan spell<\/a> at Shamrock Rovers in January.<\/p>\n<p>That was also the same time <a href=\"https:\/\/www.67hailhail.com\/transfers\/disappointing-callum-mcgregor-makes-kyogo-admission-after-celtics-season-concludes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kyogo left for Rennes<\/a>, and then Daizen Maeda moved up top, before going on to win the Scottish PFA Player of the Year. <\/p>\n<p>Add in the fact that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.67hailhail.com\/news\/intriguing-celtic-told-what-jotas-nightmare-injury-means-for-dermot-desmond-and-brendan-rodgers-talks\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jota is injured<\/a> and probably won\u2019t return until 2026, then some fresh legs are needed up top. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.67hailhail.com\/transfers\/fulham-fans-are-begging-callum-osmand-to-stay-as-celtic-medical-is-completed\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Celtic are set to sign Callum Osmand<\/a> from Fulham, but he is 19-years-old and will probably take Kenny\u2019s place for next season. <\/p>\n<p>A more senior face is needed, and there is one big name available in the market. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"725\" loading=\"lazy\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/GettyImages-1395601801-1024x725.jpg\" alt=\"Photo by Julian Finney\/Getty Images\" class=\"wp-image-261267\" \/>Photo by Julian Finney\/Getty ImagesCeltic backed to sign Jamie Vardy ahead of Rangers<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.67hailhail.com\/transfers\/celtic-fans-make-jamie-vardy-claim-as-veteran-striker-is-set-to-leave-leicester-city\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jamie Vardy has left Leicester City<\/a> after their relegation to the Championship in 2024\/25, and he will become a free agent in July.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.67hailhail.com\/tag\/frank-mcavennie\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Frank McAvennie<\/a> has made it clear that he wants Vardy at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.67hailhail.com\/club\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Celtic<\/a>, even though there have been suggestions that Rangers want to sign him, as he told his Let Me Be Frank Podcast. <\/p>\n<p>There are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.67hailhail.com\/news\/bobby-petta-delivers-brutal-celtic-reality-check-to-rangers-and-the-san-francisco-49ers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">new investors at Rangers<\/a>, and it\u2019s going to be interesting to see what they do in the summer market, but one of English football\u2019s \u2018natural predators\u2019 has been told to join <a href=\"https:\/\/www.67hailhail.com\/news\/how-virgil-van-dijk-alex-valle-and-trevor-sinclair-reacted-to-celtics-55th-title-win\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the champions of Scotland<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cVardy. I would take Vardy,\u201d said McAvennie. \u201cI know they are talking about him going to Rangers, but I would take Vardy at Celtic.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey (Ings and Vardy) are goal scorers. Two of them are goal scorers. They are just natural predators. Get them up here. Good names. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe two of them know where the back of the net is. People keep saying, \u2018you don\u2019t look up\u2019. You don\u2019t have to look up. Goals don\u2019t move.
