Newcastle United have a busy summer on the transfer front as they look to strengthen their ranks ahead of their return to the Champions League.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Callum Wilson\u2019s impending contract expiry means Newcastle<\/a> will need to bring in some reinforcements up front in his place.<\/p>\n

And Brighton & Hove Albion<\/a> forward Joao Pedro<\/a> could quite feasibly swap the Seagulls for Newcastle this summer.<\/p>\n

TBR Football<\/strong> chief correspondent Graeme Bailey<\/a>\u00a0has confirmed that Newcastle have had conversations with Pedro<\/a> following his \u201cmassive fallout\u201d at Brighton.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Now, the Seagulls are ready to sell Pedro for the right price and Newcastle manager Eddie Howe is a big fan of the Brazilian.<\/p>\n

Pedro was a notable absentee from Brighton\u2019s 3-2 win over Liverpool in the Premier League on 19 May.<\/p>\n

Seagulls head coach Fabian Hurzeler said that the Brazilian was not involved for \u201cpersonal reasons\u201d. <\/p>\n

However, The Athletic<\/a> reported that Pedro\u2019s absence was due to a training-ground altercation with Jan Paul van Hecke.<\/p>\n

This was said to have happened in the week building up to their Premier League game against Wolves on 10 May.<\/p>\n

Pedro missed the season finale against Tottenham, with Hurzeler claiming it was because of a \u201csmall issue\u201d in training.<\/p>\n

\u201cWith Joao we had a small issue in training, the type that isn\u2019t uncommon from time to time at all clubs,\u201d Hurzeler told reporters. \u201cIt has been dealt with internally; the matter is closed.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe is an incredible footballer, that\u2019s why we invested in him, but there are principles that are non-negotiable, where we don\u2019t make any compromises. <\/p>\n

\u201cHe is still a young player. He will learn from this and can continue to grow.\u201d<\/p>\n

How much Joao Pedro could cost Newcastle<\/p>\n

Despite Brighton playing the row down, TBR Football <\/strong>sources understand the Seagulls are now ready to move Pedro on.<\/p>\n

Bailey believes the 23-year-old could now be available for less than \u00a360million.<\/p>\n

\u201cPedro has had a massive fallout at Brighton, the club played it down but they are ready to let him go now,\u201d Bailey previously said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think his price will be below \u00a360million because of that falling out with Jan Paul van Hecke, who\u2019s going to get a new deal \u2013 Pedro wants out now really.\u201d<\/p>\n
