{"id":174418,"date":"2025-06-11T01:38:10","date_gmt":"2025-06-11T01:38:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/174418\/"},"modified":"2025-06-11T01:38:10","modified_gmt":"2025-06-11T01:38:10","slug":"the-details-behind-the-massive-fallout-that-could-see-joao-pedro-join-newcastle-in-cut-price-deal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/174418\/","title":{"rendered":"The details behind the &#8216;massive fallout&#8217; that could see Joao Pedro join Newcastle in cut-price deal"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Newcastle United have a busy summer on the transfer front as they look to strengthen their ranks ahead of their return to the Champions League.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Callum Wilson\u2019s impending contract expiry means <a href=\"https:\/\/tbrfootball.com\/topic\/newcastle-united\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Newcastle<\/a> will need to bring in some reinforcements up front in his place.<\/p>\n<p>And <a href=\"https:\/\/tbrfootball.com\/topic\/brighton-hove-albion\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Brighton &amp; Hove Albion<\/a> forward <a href=\"https:\/\/tbrfootball.com\/topic\/joao-pedro\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Joao Pedro<\/a> could quite feasibly swap the Seagulls for Newcastle this summer.<\/p>\n<p><strong>TBR Football<\/strong> chief correspondent <a href=\"https:\/\/tbrfootball.com\/topic\/graeme-bailey\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Graeme Bailey<\/a>\u00a0has confirmed that <a href=\"https:\/\/tbrfootball.com\/60m-striker-is-ready-to-change-position-to-join-newcastle-after-massive-fallout-at-his-club\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Newcastle have had conversations with Pedro<\/a> following his \u201cmassive fallout\u201d at Brighton.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Now, the Seagulls are ready to sell Pedro for the right price and Newcastle manager Eddie Howe is a big fan of the Brazilian.<\/p>\n<p><strong>TBR Football<\/strong> looks at what allegedly happened at Brighton that led to Pedro becoming a likely future signing for Newcastle.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" loading=\"lazy\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/GettyImages-2194716491-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"Photo by Gareth Copley\/Getty Images\" class=\"wp-image-909113\" \/>Photo by Gareth Copley\/Getty ImagesJoao Pedro allegedly involved in training-ground altercation with Brighton teammate Jan-Paul van Hecke <\/p>\n<p>Pedro was a notable absentee from Brighton\u2019s 3-2 win over Liverpool in the Premier League on 19 May.<\/p>\n<p>Seagulls head coach Fabian Hurzeler said that the Brazilian was not involved for \u201cpersonal reasons\u201d. <\/p>\n<p>However, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/athletic\/6370477\/2025\/05\/20\/joao-pedro-van-hecke-brighton-altercation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">The Athletic<\/a> reported that Pedro\u2019s absence was due to a training-ground altercation with Jan Paul van Hecke.<\/p>\n<p>This was said to have happened in the week building up to their Premier League game against Wolves on 10 May.<\/p>\n<p>Pedro missed the season finale against Tottenham, with Hurzeler claiming it was because of a \u201csmall issue\u201d in training.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith Joao we had a small issue in training, the type that isn\u2019t uncommon from time to time at all clubs,\u201d Hurzeler told reporters. \u201cIt has been dealt with internally; the matter is closed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe is an incredible footballer, that\u2019s why we invested in him, but there are principles that are non-negotiable, where we don\u2019t make any compromises. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe is still a young player.
