A new campaign to tackle neighbourhood crime in Wales has been launched.<\/p>\n
The initiative, spearheaded by independent charity Crimestoppers, started on June 10 and will run for three weeks.<\/p>\n
It aims to inform communities, encourage vigilance, and promote anonymous reporting to help create safer neighbourhoods across the region.<\/p>\n
Neighbourhood crime, which includes burglary, vehicle theft, antisocial behaviour, and other local crimes, is a concern for many residents as it affects daily life and community well-being.<\/p>\n
Crimestoppers’ campaign aims to empower residents to safeguard their communities by recognising suspicious activities and reporting them confidentially.<\/p>\n
Hayley Fry, Wales regional manager for Crimestoppers, said: “Our communities are strongest when residents work together to address crime.<\/p>\n
“This campaign aims to raise awareness of neighbourhood crime and encourage everyone to play their part in reporting suspicious activity.<\/p>\n
“Remember, when you report through Crimestoppers, your identity remains completely anonymous.”<\/p>\n
The campaign will feature digital ads on social media, using national assets to reach a wide audience.<\/p>\n
It will highlight simple ways to report crime and share information securely and anonymously.<\/p>\n
In an emergency, or if a crime taking place, call the police on 999 or 101.<\/p>\n
To pass on crime information completely anonymously, visit the charity\u2019s website and fill in a secure anonymous online form or call the 24\/7 UK contact centre on 0800 555 111.<\/p>\n
