The Brighton-native has soared up the rankings over the last 12 months inside the world\u2019s top 60, thanks to a first WTA title in Monastir, a fourth round run in Indian Wells and a Billie Jean King Cup debut.<\/p>\n<p>On the men\u2019s side, rising star <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lta.org.uk\/fan-zone\/british-tennis-players\/jacob-fearnley\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jacob Fearnley<\/a> will be one to watch after an impressive start to life on the ATP Tour. Having won the title in Nottingham last summer in his first match out of college, Fearnley has impressed with a third round run at the Australian Open and has picked up wins in ATP Masters 1000 events in Miami, Madrid and Rome.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Who else is competing at the Lexus Eastbourne Open 2025?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong> <img src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/2024-daria-kasatkina-eastbourne-trophy.jpg\" alt=\"2024-Daria-Kasatkina-Eastbourne-Trophy.jpg\" width=\"3344\" height=\"1881\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\"  \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Both defending champions, <strong>Daria Kasatkina<\/strong> and <strong>Taylor Fritz<\/strong> are confirmed to play at the Lexus Eastbourne Open this summer.<\/p>\n<p>Kasatkina \u2013 an eight-time WTA singles title winner \u2013 is one of the most dangerous grass court players on tour, having made the final twice in Eastbourne and once in Birmingham.<\/p>\n<p>Reigning Wimbledon champion <strong>Barbora Krejcikova<\/strong> is also scheduled to feature in the women&#8217;s draw as she continues her comeback from injury.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Fritz has three Eastbourne titles to his name and is the most successful player in the tournament\u2019s recent history. Wade also finished runner-up to USA\u2019s Chris Evert in 1974 and 1976.<\/p>\n<p>In doubles,\u00a0<strong>Jo Durie<\/strong>\u00a0made the final twice in 1983 with fellow Brit<strong>\u00a0Anne Hobbs<\/strong>, and in 1984 with Ann Kiyomura but on both occasions lost to US duo Martina Navratilova and Pam Shriver on their run of six straight titles.<\/p>\n<p>There has been more success in the men\u2019s doubles. In 2012\u00a0<strong>Colin Fleming<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Ross Hutchins<\/strong>\u00a0became the first Brits to lift the title against countrymen Jamie Delgado and Ken Skupski.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dom Inglot<\/strong>\u00a0went on to win it in 2014 with Treat Huey, beating Alexander Peya and Bruno Soares in the final.
