Manchester United are expected to continue prioritising the signing of Brentford attacker Bryan Mbeumo when the summer transfer window reopens next week.<\/p>\n

The window, after opening earlier than usual because of the Club World Cup, temporarily closed at 7pm on Tuesday evening, meaning there will be a brief pause in proceedings.<\/p>\n

However, the it will reopen again as soon as Monday (June 16), meaning clubs will once again be free to press ahead with their recruitment plans ahead of the 2025\/26 campaign. The window will not close until September 1.<\/p>\n

United saw an opening offer of \u00a355million for Mbeumo knocked back last week<\/a>. They offered \u00a345m up front and a further \u00a310m in add-ons.<\/p>\n

Despite falling short of Brentford’s valuation, United have remained in talks with the Londoners and are expected to make an improved offer for the Cameroon international, who scored 20 Premier League<\/a> goals in the most recent campaign. The Reds would like to get a deal for Mbeumo over the line before the start of pre-season training in July.<\/p>\n

If United get a deal over the line for the 25-year-old, he will join Matheus Cunha<\/a> in strengthening their attacking options. He recently arrived from Wolves after United trigged his \u00a362.5m release clause.<\/p>\n

As well as wanting to sign Mbeumo<\/a>, United also have ambitions of signing a striker, a midfielder and potentially a goalkeeper. The addition of a specialist right wing-back is also yet to have been ruled out.<\/p>\n

However, further additions will rest on generating funds via player sales.<\/p>\n

As far as outgoings are concerned, United are yet to oversee a sale this summer. The club is keen to cut its cloth this and they have a list of players they want to offload permanently, including Marcus Rashford<\/a>, Jadon Sancho, Alejandro Garnacho<\/a> and Antony.<\/p>\n

Striker Rasmus Hojlund is also attracting interest from Inter Milan and it remains to be seen if the Italian outfit will submit a formal offer for the 22-year-old.<\/p>\n

However, United, on Monday, confirmed nine players will be released<\/a> when their contracts officially expire on June 30.<\/p>\n

It had already been announced that Jonny Evans, Victor Lindelof and Christian Eriksen will depart when their deals expire, but United’s retained list confirmed youngsters Hubert Graczyk, Tom Wooster, Tom Myles, Sam Murray, Jack Kingdon and James Nolan will also leave the club at the end of this month.<\/p>\n
