Leeds United might have just been handed a huge boost in their pursuit to sign one Illan Meslier replacement this summer.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Illan Meslier is one player at Leeds United<\/a> who will most definitely be upgraded this season. The Frenchman was axed by Daniel Farke<\/a> towards the back-end of the 2024\/25 season and subsequent reports have suggested that Leeds United will sell Meslier this summer<\/a>.<\/p>\n

And so far we\u2019ve seen several goalkeepers linked with Leeds United<\/a> ahead of the 2025\/26 season. Some of the names mentioned include Southampton\u2019s Aaron Ramsdale and Caoimhin Kelleher, though Kelleher has joined Brentford<\/a> on a permanent deal.<\/p>\n

Options are already wearing thin for Farke and not just in the goalkeeping department either. Leeds will face transfer battles for all of their summer targets and so the 49ers<\/a> need to act fast in the market if they want to get the best deals.<\/p>\n

And the Whites might now be prompted to move for Chelsea goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic<\/a>, after the latest news coming out of Stamford Bridge.<\/p>\n

Leeds United have been linked with Petrovic<\/a> at Chelsea. The Serbian shot-stopper has just come off the back of a really strong loan spell with Strasbourg in Ligue 1 where he was named the club\u2019s Player of the Season, keeping 10 clean sheets in 31 games whilst conceding 38 times.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s understood that Chelsea are open to selling the \u00a314milllion-rated Petrovic<\/a> this summer and now it seems like Petrovic is almost entirely out of the picture at Stamford Bridge. It\u2019s been revealed by The Athletic<\/a> that Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca has left Petrovic out of his Club World Cup squad for this month\u2019s tournament.<\/p>\n

Maresca has taken three goalkeepers though, including Robert Sanchez, Filip Jorgensen and also new arrival Mike Penders, signalling the end of Petrovic\u2019s stay at the club.<\/p>\n

The latest on Illan Meslier\u2019s Leeds United future<\/p>\n

Farke and Leeds United have been offering Meslier to other clubs<\/a> already this summer, and in a rather coincidental move, he could end up replacing Petrovic at Strasbourg with the French club interested in a potential deal for Meslier.<\/p>\n

But Meslier\u2019s Leeds United exit isn\u2019t guaranteed this summer<\/a>. Speaking to Leeds United News recently, transfer expert Graeme Bailey revealed how Leeds won\u2019t sell Meslier unless their valuation of the 25-year-old is met.<\/p>\n

Though a deal for Petrovic, also 25, could be a shrewd one for Farke, and an affordable one too.
