So I\u2019m you, I\u2019m us, it\u2019s us.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Since then, the rapper\u2019s names in the press and public have often been used interchangeably. Now, <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2025\/06\/10\/celebrity-news\/kanye-west-changes-his-name-for-a-second-time\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Page Six<\/a> reports that he has once again changed his name \u2013 at least in official business documents.<\/p>\n<p>Per documents obtained by Page Six that were filed by Kanye\u2019s\u00a0chief financial officer Hussain Lalani under the name Ye Ye. His previous filings were under the name Ye West. According to the publication, his new moniker has been listed under \u201cmanager or member name\u201d for all of his businesses including Yeezy Apparel, Yeezy Record Label and more.<\/p>\n<p>Kanye West has yet to publicly announce the second name-change, but seemingly alluded to it earlier this month. On June 1, he posted on X: \u201cIma finally stop using the @kanyewest twitter cause my name is Ye. Gonna start a Ye account and it is what it is.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Ima finally stop using the <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/kanyewest?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">@kanyewest<\/a> twitter cause my name is Ye <\/p>\n<p>Gonna start a ye account and it is what it is<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 ye (@kanyewest) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/kanyewest\/status\/1929044031058657439?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">June 1, 2025<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>In March 2024, the rapper reiterated that he no longer wanted to be known by his birth name, saying he was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/kanye-west-rejects-former-slave-name-and-demands-to-be-called-ye-from-now-on-3609117\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">rejecting his \u201cslave name\u201d and \u201cdemanded\u201d to be addressed as Ye<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>This year alone, Ye has written a string of highly controversial posts on X, which saw him <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/kanye-west-says-he-is-never-apologising-for-my-jewish-comments-and-claims-to-have-dominion-over-bianca-censori-fuck-all-that-woke-shit-3835994\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">take back his apology to the Jewish community for his past anti-Semitic remarks<\/a>\u00a0and go on to declare himself \u201ca Nazi\u201d. He also wrote: \u201cI love Hitler\u201d, and praised\u00a0Elon Musk\u00a0as \u201cthe most lit person that [has] ever been on Twitter\u201d, following\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/elon-musk-sparks-backlash-with-nazi-like-gesture-at-trump-inauguration-3830625\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the latter being accused of making a Nazi salute at Donald Trump\u2019s presidential inauguration<\/a>.<\/p>\n<ul class=\"post-content-read-more\">\n<li><strong>READ MORE:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/features\/music-features\/kanye-west-white-lives-matter-unforgivable-opinion-3323984\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">With his \u201cWhite Lives Matter\u201d stunt, has Kanye West finally hit the point of no return?<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In February, he came under fire for a bizarre tweeting spree following his controversial and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/grammys-2025-kanye-west-shows-up-with-wife-bianca-censori-who-reveals-shocking-see-through-dress-3833867\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">head-turning appearance at the Grammy Awards with wife Bianca Censori<\/a>, who donned a see-through dress, revealing her naked body underneath \u2013 he later <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/kanye-west-says-he-is-never-apologising-for-my-jewish-comments-and-claims-to-have-dominion-over-bianca-censori-fuck-all-that-woke-shit-3835994\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">claimed \u201cdominion\u201d over Censori<\/a>. In his spree, he also courted controversy for selling <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/kanye-west-releases-new-song-beauty-and-the-beast-before-stripping-yeezy-site-to-only-sell-swastika-t-shirt-3836729\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a white T-shirt with a large swastika emblem on the chest<\/a>, listed as \u201cHH-01\u201d on his website \u2013 possibly a reference to the \u201cHeil Hitler\u201d chant.<\/p>\n<p>The site was\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/shopify-shut-down-kanye-wests-yeezy-website-for-selling-swastika-t-shirt-matthew-koma-responds-with-fuck-ye-merch-3837155\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">later taken down by Shopify<\/a>, though the online retailer later\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/shopify-says-kanye-wests-site-was-removed-over-fraud-potential-not-swastika-t-shirt-3837621\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">stated that it was taken down due to the potential for fraud \u2013 not because it was selling a swastika t-shirt<\/a>. Shopify did condemn the item, calling it \u201cvile, disgusting and inexcusable\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Then, the rapper seemed to backtrack on his earlier comments,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/kanye-west-has-come-to-the-realisation-that-hes-not-a-nazi-after-reflection-3839623\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">taking to X to share that \u201cafter further reflection\u201d, he\u2019s \u201ccome to the realisation that I\u2019m not a Nazi\u201d<\/a>. However, it was followed\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/kanye-west-is-producing-more-swastika-apparel-after-claiming-hes-not-a-nazi-3840479\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">only a few days later by yet more swastika apparel appearing on his X page<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>His album \u2018Donda 2\u2019 was released onto all streaming platforms in April,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/kanye-wests-donda-2-removed-from-streaming-just-hours-after-release-3859759\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">only for it to be taken down just hours later<\/a>. That came shortly after he\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/kanye-west-joins-streaming-service-twitch-and-gets-banned-after-seven-minutes-3858477\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">recently joined Twitch, only to be banned after seven minutes<\/a>\u00a0after he allegedly threw a Nazi salute while proclaiming: \u201cHeil Hitler.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Kanye West has reportedly legally changed his name for a second time \u2013 find out more below.
