Liverpool headed into Sunday\u2019s game against West Ham knowing they could move 13 points clear at the top of the Premier League.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Reds may have been feeling the pressure through the week having been beaten by Fulham last weekend.<\/p>\n

But with Arsenal once again passing up the chance to close the gap to Liverpool<\/a> on Saturday, there was a feeling of freedom once kick-off arrived against West Ham.<\/p>\n

The feel-good factor at Liverpool had already been bolstered on Friday, when Mohamed Salah finally put pen to paper <\/a>on a new two-year contract.<\/p>\n

Salah celebrated with a fantastic assist against West Ham, laying the ball on a plate for Luis Diaz to put the Reds 1-0 up early on.<\/p>\n

But while the day was in a sense all about Mo, there was still room for a little Alisson Becker<\/a> magic against West Ham.<\/p>\n

After a lean period without a goal contribution, Salah looked in the mood right from the first whistle on Sunday.<\/p>\n

Nevertheless, even with the Egyptian playing at something close to his best, Liverpool were still guilty of giving up a huge chance after taking the lead on Sunday.<\/p>\n

It was Carlos Soler who snuck around the back of the Liverpool defence to face Alisson one-on-one.<\/p>\n

The Brazilian is so good in these moments, though, and he stood up firm to deny Soler. Alisson then got up to tip an audacious Mohammed Kudus lob onto the bar. Commentating for BBC Sport<\/a>, former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson was impressed.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat was a brilliant save from Alisson,\u201d Robinson raved. \u201cIt\u2019s the work that goalkeepers do routinely day in and day out and you don\u2019t often get to perform it in a game. <\/p>\n

\u201cHe came out and made himself big and his footwork and reaction to get back \u2013 it\u2019s brilliant goalkeeping.\u201d<\/p>\n

Alisson shows what Liverpool have been missing<\/p>\n

It was a relief to see Alisson restored to the starting line-up for Sunday\u2019s game against West Ham.<\/p>\n

The 32-year-old had missed Liverpool\u2019s last two matches after failing to recover in time from a concussion sustained during international duty.<\/p>\n

And while Caoimhin Kelleher did not do an especially bad job of things, there is a clear gulf in quality between Liverpool\u2019s number one and number two.<\/p>\n

On punditry work for Sky Sports<\/a>, former striker Les Ferdinand was also impressed with Alisson\u2019s save.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s an absolutely fantastic save,\u201d Ferdinand raved. \u201cIf he doesn\u2019t get his fingertips to it, this just drops in.
