And according to Kate herself, it definitely did the trick.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;He used to cook all sorts of meals. I think that\u2019s when he was trying to impress me, Mary,&#8221; the Princess of Wales told beloved TV chef Mary Berry during a 2019 special. &#8220;Things like Bolognese sauce, and things like that.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s simple, affordable, and you can feed a crowd with just a few ingredients,\u201d Michelin-starred chef and Great British Menu winner Tom Shepherd told HELLO!.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Trying to win over Kate Middleton with home cooked meals, the young prince didn\u2019t exactly stick to simple student fare.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen I was trying to impress Kate, I was trying to cook these amazing fancy dinners,\u201d William once recalled.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd what would happen is I would burn something, something would overspill, something would catch on fire\u2026 and she would be sitting in the background trying to help and basically taking control of the whole situation. So I was quite glad she was there at the time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Despite the kitchen chaos, Kate clearly saw something charming in William\u2019s efforts\u00a0 and the rest is royal history.<\/p>\n<p>As for whether the future King still dons an apron these days? \u201cHe sometimes does, actually,\u201d Kate shared with Mary Berry. \u201cHe&#8217;s very good at breakfast.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"\u00a0Prince William and Princess Kate\u2019s love story started at St Andrews.
