{"id":176079,"date":"2025-06-11T16:11:09","date_gmt":"2025-06-11T16:11:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/176079\/"},"modified":"2025-06-11T16:11:09","modified_gmt":"2025-06-11T16:11:09","slug":"uss-worldwide-popularity-plummets-thanks-to-arrogant-trump-politico","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/176079\/","title":{"rendered":"US\u2019s worldwide popularity plummets thanks to \u2018arrogant\u2019 Trump \u2013 POLITICO"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>When Trump was first elected in 2016, the U.S.\u2019s popularity worldwide similarly dropped, but the country recovered to previous levels during the Joe Biden presidency, according to data from Pew, a U.S.-based think tank which describes itself as non-partisan.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In Europe, an outlier when it comes to Trump is Hungary, the only country where majority of respondents are confident in American president.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The majority of responders across countries agreed that Trump is \u201cdangerous\u201d and \u201carrogant,\u201d and few think he is honest. Most, however, also see him as a \u201cstrong leader.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Along with Trump, the survey also measured global confidence in French President Emmanuel Macron, Russia\u2019s Vladimir Putin, and China\u2019s Xi Jinping. Of the four, Macron has a solid lead, with a median of 46% expressing confidence in the French leader, compared to 34% for Trump, 25% for Xi and only 16% for Putin.
