More than one year into King Charles III\u2019s cancer treatment<\/a>, royal insiders are speculating what could come next<\/a> for the British monarch.<\/p>\n

In a new report, The Telegraph<\/a> said that due to Charles\u2019s declining health, \u201cit appears unlikely he will ever move from Clarence House to Buckingham Palace after the restoration is completed in three years\u2019 time.\u201d<\/p>\n

Clarence House has been Charles and wife Queen Camilla\u2019s home sine 2003, but Charles not moving to the palace would make him the first monarch since Queen Victoria to not use it as his main residence. Still, Buckingham Palace remains the king\u2019s main office.<\/p>\n

The outlet reported that the king\u2019s aides have been keeping his health in mind when it comes to his living situation. Plus, sources have previously claimed that Charles never liked the \u201cbig house,\u201d as he calls the palace. \u201cHe doesn\u2019t see it as a viable future home or a house that\u2019s fit for purpose in the modern world,\u201d an insider told the U.K. Times<\/a> in 2022.<\/p>\n

Elsewhere in its report, The Telegraph<\/a> stated that there have been some \u201cexploratory\u201d discussions around the royal residence in regards to Charles\u2019s lack of relationship<\/a> with son Prince Harry, especially as the monarch grows older. These talks have been about \u201cif or when father and son could ever be reunited,\u201d and one occasion that is being considered is at the Invictus Games in Birmingham\u2014two years from now, in 2027.<\/p>\n
