I\u2019ll say that again. Tenth biggest attendance. But strapped for cash.<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019d all bought into the \u2018can\u2019t buy before selling\u2019 doctrine and so have seen a number of \u00a0\u2018West Ham targets\u2019 missed or snapped up by competitors already \u00a0in the brief first summer window.<\/p>\n<p>But a report which flashed across my screen this afternoon made me sit up and question that very mantra of selling before buying. If \u2013 and that is \u2018IF\u2019 in capitals \u2013 the report by <a href=\"https:\/\/sportwitness.co.uk\/west-ham-made-late-attempt-for-versatile-midfielder-players-transfer-at-advanced-stage\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">sportwitness.co.uk<\/a> is true it surely throws doubt on the \u2018lack of funds\u2019 West Ham narrative.<\/p>\n<p>    Most Read on West Ham News<\/p>\n<p>The Hammers apparently attempted to \u2018insert themselves\u2019 \u2013 hijack \u2013 the deal between Napoli and Milan for promising midfielder <strong>Yunus Musah.<\/strong> Articles linking the Hammers with the former Valencia player go back months.<\/p>\n<p>According to today\u2019s report :<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJournalist [Daniele Longo] claims the 22-year-old has agreed personal terms ahead of a potential move to the Naples side and talks are ongoing between Napoli and Milan about a permanent transfer. Meanwhile, West Ham have tried to insert themselves in the scenario by attempting to hijack [ Napoli\u2019s] approach. Despite that, everything points towards the fact that Napoli are at an \u2018advanced stage\u2019 in their talks and a fee of around \u20ac25m is close to being agreed.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Well excuse me, if that is correct, then claims that the Hammers are skint cannot be true: Hijacking a \u20ac25 million deal cannot be carried out with points from a Nectar card.
