Mohamed Salah<\/a> has written his name into the Premier League<\/a> history books by registering the most goal involvements in a season since the division slimmed down to 38 games in a campaign.<\/p>\n The Liverpool<\/a> superstar provided a lovely assist for Luis Diaz<\/a> to open the scoring against West Ham at Anfield on Sunday afternoon.<\/p>\n That was the Egyptian\u2019s 18th assist of the Premier League season, to go with his 27 goal, taking his goal involvements to 45.<\/p>\n The previous record was shared by Thierry Henry who managed 44 goal involvements for Arsenal in 2002\/03 and Erling Haaland who reached the same number for Manchester City in 2022\/23.<\/p>\n Salah has plenty of time to surge a long way past that previous record, with six games still to play after this weekend.<\/p>\n \t\t\t\tGet personalised updates on Liverpool every day\t\t\t<\/p>\n Wake up to find news on your club in your inbox every morning with Metro\u2019s Football Newsletter. <\/p>\n Sign up to our newsletter<\/a> and then select your team in the link we\u2019ll send you so we can get football news tailored to you.<\/p>\n There is every chance that the 32-year-old could break the record for a Premier League season, even including the 42-game campaigns.<\/p>\n Andy Cole in 1993\/94 and Alan Shearer in 1994\/95 both reached 47 goal involvements, but their tally could easily be shattered by the Reds legend.<\/p>\n \t\t Cole was with Newcastle United when he managed the record-setting season, with Shearer firing Blackburn to the title as he matched that total.<\/p>\n Salah also has the record for most assists in a Premier League season in his sights, with a very good chance of securing himself another slice of history.<\/p>\n Thierry Henry and Kevin De Bruyne currently share that record with the Arsenal legend registering 20 assists in 2002\/03 and the Manchester City icon managing the same in 2019\/20.<\/p>\n \t\t With Salah up to 18 already, the forward is well placed to get himself ahead of the Frenchman and the Belgian in the assists stakes.<\/p>\n While it is not out of his reach, scoring the most goals in a Premier League season seems far less likely as Salah has a lot of work to do to manage that this campaign.<\/p>\n Haaland has that record, having scored 36 goals in 2022\/23, so the Liverpool man would have to have an extremely strong end to the season to beat or match that.<\/p>\n Salah will have two more seasons to come to make more Premier League history after signing a new contract with the Reds.<\/p>\n \u2018Of course, I\u2019m very excited,\u2019 he said. \u2018We have a great team now. Before, also we had a great team. But I signed because I think we have a chance to win other trophies and enjoy my football.<\/p>\n \u2018It\u2019s great, I had my best years here. I played eight years, hopefully it\u2019s going to be 10. [I\u2019m] enjoying my life here, enjoying my football. I had the best years in my career.<\/p>\n \u2018I would like to say to [the fans], I am very, very happy to be here. I signed here because I believe we can win a lot of big trophies together.
