Yuki Tsunoda has conceded that it is “crazy” to be entering his 100th Formula 1 race this weekend in the Canadian Grand Prix, following a very productive two-day test in Barcelona.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Between the Spanish Grand Prix and travelling to the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, Red Bull scheduled a two-day test for Tsunoda to continue adjusting to driving a Red Bull car.\u00a0<\/p>\n
He has struggled to settle into life at Red Bull and is yet to really offer Max Verstappen much support.<\/p>\n
Despite his difficulties in recent races, the Japanese driver is delighted to be entering his 100th grand prix at one of his favourite venues.<\/p>\n
“I am looking forward to this week in Canada, it\u2019s one of my favourite races on the calendar,” said Tsunoda. “I love Montreal and the overall vibe of the city, the food and the shopping and it\u2019s such a fun place to hang out in.\u00a0<\/p>\n
“It\u2019s also my 100th race in Formula 1 this weekend, which feels a bit crazy. It feels like I just started but also feels like this has always been my life.\u00a0<\/p>\n
“Every one of those 100 races has felt special and I feel lucky to be in the sport and I would love to mark my 100th race with a result to match the occasion.”<\/p>\n
\t\t\t\t\tTsunoda eyes qualifying improvement<\/p>\n
Tsunoda has scored just seven points for Red Bull in his seven grands prix for Red Bull, once again highlighting the issues with the second seat in the Milton Keynes-based outfit.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Failing to make Q3 has also been a regular issue for Tsunoda, who has recognised the importance of improving his qualifying performances ahead of Canada.<\/p>\n
“I had two solid days of testing in Barcelona following the race and have been on the sim in Milton Keynes too, so we have been working hard together and I have a lot more miles under my belt in a Red Bull Racing car now,” added Tsunoda.<\/p>\n
“After Spain, we must execute a better Qualifying and we have put the work in to do that.\u00a0<\/p>\n
