The Sharks were beaten in the Premiership semi-finals by Leicester last weekend after finishing the season in third place.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>From League Legend to Sale\u2019s Attack Brain<\/p>\n<p>The 46-year-old joined Sale in 2015, initially as part of Steve Diamond\u2019s coaching staff, before taking over in 2020. <\/p>\n<p>Deacon switched codes from rugby league to take up a role as attack coach at Sale having won four Super League Grand Finals, two Challenge Cups and the World Club Challenge during a glittering career as a player with both Bradford Bulls and Wigan Warriors.<\/p>\n<p>Four Semi-Finals, One Regret<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo reach four semi-finals out of five seasons has been incredible \u2013 my only regret is that we didn\u2019t manage to win the Premiership but I\u2019ve got no doubt that will come,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.salesharks.com\/2025\/06\/11\/paul-deacon-departs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Deacon told the Sale website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The Future\u2019s on the Horizon<\/p>\n<p>Sale expect to announce details of their coaching line-up for next season \u201cin the coming days\u201d and the club\u2019s director of rugby Alex Sanderson paid tribute to the departing Deacon.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor the last five years he\u2019s been the first person I call on a Sunday,\u201d he said.<br \/>\u201cHe\u2019s been the most diligent, the most hard-working and the most dependable head coach and for me on a personal level, he\u2019s been a rock.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>EDITORS PICKS:<\/p>\n<p>Like this:<\/p>\n<p>Like Loading&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"sd-link-color\"\/>\t\t\t<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Sale have parted company with head coach Paul Deacon after five years in charge.
