When the summer transfer window reopens next week, Manchester United will be determined to sanction a number of sales.<\/p>\n
Having signed Matheus Cunha<\/a> from Wolves for \u00a362.5million and identified Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo<\/a> as their next top target, United will soon have to make some sales.<\/p>\n After failing to secure Champions League<\/a> qualification for next season, United’s budget this summer is not as handsome as it would have been had they beaten Tottenham Hotspur in the Europa League<\/a> final three weeks ago.<\/p>\n It means a lot of their recruitment, despite signing Cunha and lodging a \u00a355m offer for Mbeumo, will be dependent on outgoings. The Manchester Evening News<\/a> reported back in March that United are planning for at least ten departures.<\/p>\n In addition to signing Cunha and attempting to lure Mbeumo, who is believed to be valued at around \u00a360m, to Old Trafford<\/a>, United also have aspirations of signing a striker, a midfielder and a goalkeeper. The addition of a specialist right wing-back has also not been ruled out.<\/p>\n If United<\/a> are to achieve all of their objectives before the end of the summer, they are going to have to try and oversee plenty of outgoings. Although United are prepared to sell any player this summer<\/a>, some are more likely to move on than others.<\/p>\n As reported by the Manchester Evening News<\/a>, Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho<\/a> and Antony have been identified as priority sales this summer. Rashford<\/a> is valued at \u00a340m, Antony should be available for around \u00a332.5m and Sancho is thought to be valued at somewhere in the region of \u00a320m after Chelsea<\/a> backed out of their obligation to sign him permanently.<\/p>\n The trio, who all spent time away from Old Trafford on loan in 2024\/25, are surplus to requirements and head coach Ruben Amorim has no plans to reintegrate them into his squad.<\/p>\n In truth, it is hard to see where they would fit into in his plans given his 3-4-2-1 system does not feature roles for natural wingers. In Amorim’s system, width is provided by the wing-backs.<\/p>\n With that in mind, it makes perfect sense for United to cash-in on them amid chief executive Omar Berrada’s comments about the club prioritising the benefit of the team over finances when making a decision on any outgoings.<\/p>\n “We need to be cautious and, and we need to try to make as many good decisions as we can in recruitment,” said Berrada, speaking in March.<\/p>\n “And also when it comes to sales, we will do it purely on the basis of whether it helps improve the team or not, not for financial reasons.”<\/p>\n![\"Marcus](\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/0_GettyImages-2180788852.jpg\")
