{"id":177726,"date":"2025-06-12T06:46:12","date_gmt":"2025-06-12T06:46:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/177726\/"},"modified":"2025-06-12T06:46:12","modified_gmt":"2025-06-12T06:46:12","slug":"bristol-destination-bar-closes-year-after-opening-after-landlord-re-possessed-property","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/177726\/","title":{"rendered":"Bristol &#8216;destination bar&#8217; closes year after opening after landlord &#8216;re-possessed property&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It opened back in March 2024 as somewhat of an homage to the previous Goldbrick House (2006-2016)<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/0_JS372147244.jpg\" alt=\"Goldbrick House on Park Street, pictured on June 11, 2025, has closed with notices in the window from the landlord and bailiffs\" loading=\"eager\"  \/>Goldbrick House on Park Street, pictured on June 11, 2025, has closed with notices in the window from the landlord and bailiffs(Image: Paul Gillis\/Reach Plc)<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Park Street&#8217;s Goldbrick House has closed for the second time, just over a year after it&#8217;s second incarnation opened its doors in the former home of The Florist.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \"><a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bristolpost.co.uk\/whats-on\/food-drink\/goldbrick-house-announces-opening-date-9099284\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"Described as a &#039;destination bar&#039;Link opens in a new tab.\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Described as a &#8216;destination bar&#8217;<\/a>, the venue boasted a capacity for 300 across multiple floors and hosted its launch event on February 29, 2024, before opening its doors to the public the following day.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">However, Google lists it as &#8216;permanently closed&#8217; and notices have been placed in the window of the bar venue, dated May 30, 2025, which states that the landlord of the property had &#8220;exercised their right to instruct Enforcement Agents to peaceably re-enter and take possession of this premises&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">A second notice addressed to New World Trading Company, from Direct Collection Bailiffs Limited, reads: &#8220;The landlord gives you notice as follows:<\/p>\n<ol class=\"NumberedList_numbered-list__oytz_\">\n<li class=\"sc-700e1ff3-0 VljCu\">The locks of the property have now been changed.<\/li>\n<li class=\"sc-700e1ff3-0 VljCu\">The equipment (&#8220;the goods&#8221;) within your ownership and in situ at the property, are currently still held at the address.<\/li>\n<li class=\"sc-700e1ff3-0 VljCu\">The goods are ready for you to collect from the property, subject to access prior arrangement.<\/li>\n<li class=\"sc-700e1ff3-0 VljCu\">In accordance with the Torts (Interference with goods) Act 1977, you are under an obligation to collect the goods. Please do so by no later than 13\/06\/2025<\/li>\n<li class=\"sc-700e1ff3-0 VljCu\">In the event that the goods are not collected on or before this date the landlord reserves the right to dispose of the goods as they see fit.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">&#8220;Any monies raised will be offset against your arrears and any surplus forwarded to you.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \"><a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bristolpost.co.uk\/whats-on\/whats-on-news\/gallery\/first-look-inside-new-bristol-9134741\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"Inside the venue, Link opens in a new tab.\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Inside the venue, <\/a>Goldbrick House boasted a black and gold colour scheme, as well as ground floor, first floor and second floor bars and rooms.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The ground floor <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bristolpost.co.uk\/all-about\/pubs-and-bars-in-bristol\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"barLink opens in a new tab.\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">bar<\/a> (Goldie&#8217;s) was a &#8216;drop-in bar&#8217; that promised continental beers on tap, as well as creamy stout and selected local pours, while the first floor bar (Alfred&#8217;s) was a table service bar with a vast array of Champagne and wines.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">There was also a disco room, named &#8216;Boujee Wonderland&#8217; on the second floor, equipped with a huge disco ball. The venue had<a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bristolpost.co.uk\/whats-on\/food-drink\/goldbrick-house-announces-opening-date-9099284\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\" announced a number of brunches, a steak night and its own carveryLink opens in a new tab.\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\"> announced a number of brunches, a steak night and its own carvery<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Some Bristolians may be familiar with the name, as Goldbrick House resided at the site for a decade, prior to The Florist, between 2006 and 2016 and featured a ground-floor cafe, cocktail and champagne bar, a two-floor restaurant, roof terrace and meeting rooms.
