{"id":178428,"date":"2025-06-12T12:57:16","date_gmt":"2025-06-12T12:57:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/178428\/"},"modified":"2025-06-12T12:57:16","modified_gmt":"2025-06-12T12:57:16","slug":"leeds-want-stunning-17m-star-marcelo-bielsa-once-tried-to-sign-he-could-join-josh-sargent-at-elland-road","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/178428\/","title":{"rendered":"Leeds want \u2018stunning\u2019 \u00a317m star Marcelo Bielsa once tried to sign, he could join Josh Sargent at Elland Road"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Leeds United are currently considering a move for either Emiliano Buendia or Gustavo Hamer as they also look to recruit a striker this summer.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>TBR Football<\/strong> understands that <a href=\"https:\/\/tbrfootball.com\/topic\/leeds-united\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Leeds<\/a> want to recruit a number 10 for the Premier League and their interest in <a href=\"https:\/\/tbrfootball.com\/topic\/emiliano-buendia\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Emiliano Buendia<\/a> has resurfaced once again.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>After returning from a serious injury last season, Buendia spent the second half of the campaign playing under Xabi Alonso at Bayer Leverkusen where he scored twice in 11 Bundesliga games.<\/p>\n<p>And in terms of Leeds\u2019 interest in Sheffield United\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/tbrfootball.com\/topic\/gustavo-hamer\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Gustavo Hamer<\/a>, the 27-year-old was playing much closer to home, a player who was doing his best to inspire Premier League promotion elsewhere.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>But in what could be a busy summer for Leeds, they are also on the hunt for a number nine who can make a difference back in the top-flight.<\/p>\n<p>Leeds might replace Brendan Aaronson with Emi Buendia<\/p>\n<p>That being said, TBR chief correspondent <strong>Graeme Bailey<\/strong> has provided an update on Leeds\u2019 plans, including their interest in Everton\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/tbrfootball.com\/topic\/beto\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Beto<\/a> and Norwich City\u2019s Josh Sargent.<\/p>\n<p>Beto enjoyed a strong end to the season under David Moyes at Goodison Park, and Sargent has proved his quality in the Championship for some time now.<\/p>\n<p>And whilst a move for Beto might not be top of Leeds\u2019 priorities, Sargent was earmarked as someone to \u2018keep an eye on\u2019.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"664\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/GettyImages-2213364081-1024x664.jpg\" alt=\"Emiliano Buendia during a Bundesliga match for Bayer Leverkusen.\" \/>Photo by Daniel Kopatsch\/Getty Images<\/p>\n<p><strong>READ MORE<\/strong>: <a href=\"https:\/\/tbrfootball.com\/how-kalvin-phillips-feels-about-re-joining-leeds-united-this-summer-as-potential-reunion-becomes-possible\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">How Kalvin Phillips feels about rejoining Leeds United this summer as potential reunion becomes possible<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Bailey explained: \u201cBeto is a player who\u2019s been discussed at Leeds, but I don\u2019t think he\u2019s top of their list by any stretch of the imagination, I\u2019ll be honest.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s a few names there, I think Josh Sargent is very high in their thinking, he\u2019s a very good player, the way he\u2019s progressed in the English game.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cKeep an eye on Leeds for him, he\u2019s an exceptional player and they like him a lot. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut Leeds are using the Red Bull resources, the 49ers. Leeds will be a real threat to some Premier League teams, especially those near the bottom.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey\u2019ve not been in the Premier League for a couple of years but their backroom, the way they\u2019re sorted out, they\u2019re a high-calibre club with the way they operate off the field, people shouldn\u2019t forget that.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn terms of who they sign, I think the number 10 will be Hamer or Buendia, I think it\u2019ll be one of those two.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt might be Hamer because he\u2019ll end up being cheaper, but [Daniel] Farke likes Buendia an awful lot so that might go a long way. Does his injury record go against him?
