A flat in South Bristol<\/a> has been issued with a closure order over concerns of drug dealing and anti-social behaviour.<\/p>\n A three-month order was granted on a flat in Hollidge Gardens, Bedminster<\/a> on Tuesday, June 10.<\/p>\n Avon and Somerset Police<\/a> say the property was closed following evidence secured by PC Darell Andrews and Sgt Ben Spence, from the Bedminster Neighbourhood Beat Team.<\/p>\n The order was issued amid concerns the property is linked to drug use, drug supply and other criminal activity.<\/p>\n PC Andrews said: \u201cAnti-social behaviour has a wide impact on our communities and the problems it has caused for the elderly residents of Hollidge Gardens will not be tolerated.<\/p>\n \u201cI welcome the closure.<\/p>\n “Through the effort of multiple teams, from anti-social behaviour teams to PCSOs, we have manged to safeguard the residents while disrupting crime and I am very pleased with the result.\u201d<\/p>\n A closure order can be granted for up to three months in order to prevent anti-social or nuisance behaviour.<\/p>\n They may be extended up to six months by the court following an application by police or the local authority.<\/p>\n Earlier this year, another closure order was placed on a flat in Bristol<\/a>.<\/p>\n Local residents complained about anti-social behaviour and drug dealing at a residence in St Phillips, resulting in a closure order being approved.<\/p>\n
