Town centre pub to reopen this summer after refurbishment<\/a>\n<\/p>\n\n The\u00a0incident began at Green Lane Hospital\u00a0in the early hours of Wednesday, June 11.\n<\/p>\n
\n A spokesperson for the Dorset and Wiltshire Fire Service said they were called to Green Lane just after 1.30am.\n<\/p>\n
\n The spokesperson said: “We were called at 1.38am this morning (11 June) to Green Lane, Devizes to support a police-led incident. One crew from Devizes attended and our stop came in at 5.49am when we left the scene.”\n<\/p>\n
\n Following an extended period on the hospital roof, after 5am on June 12, the patient jumped off the roof of the hospital into a neighbouring field, before making his way into the estate.\n<\/p>\n
\n In a statement posted on Devizes Police social media this morning, a spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: \u201cPlease be aware that we have cordoned off Reeves Road, Devizes, following a development in the Green Lane Hospital incident.\n<\/p>\n
\n \u201cShortly after 5am this morning (12\/06), the man, aged in his 20s, jumped off the roof of a building at the hospital and into a neighbouring field, and then made his way into a local housing estate, where he has climbed onto the roof of a residential house.\n<\/p>\n
\n \u201cWe have set up a cordon on the street and are continuing to negotiate with the man.\n<\/p>\n
\n \u201cWe appreciate this development will be concerning for local residents. Please be assured that the situation is being managed and residents are able to come and go from their properties.\n<\/p>\n
