Scott Brown \/ Android Authority<\/p>\n<p>TL;DR<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Google invited Pixel Superfans to apply for a chance to experience \u201cpre-release Pixel devices\u201d at a June 27 event.<\/li>\n<li>The company is now telling them that due to \u201cunforeseen circumstances\u201d it\u2019s planning a September 4 event.<\/li>\n<li>It\u2019s unclear if release plans have been affected any, but the last leak we\u2019ve seen points to a mid-August launch.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Google\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.androidauthority.com\/google-pixel-10-3470386\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Pixel 10<\/a> smartphones are on their way, and other than feeling a wee bit <a href=\"https:\/\/www.androidauthority.com\/google-pixel-battery-issues-recommendations-3566778\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">nervous about Pixel batteries<\/a> in general these days, we\u2019re otherwise hugely excited for the upcoming launch. Beyond getting to meet Google\u2019s new <a href=\"https:\/\/www.androidauthority.com\/google-pixel-10-qi-2-magnetic-pixelsnap-accessories-3566103\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u201cPixelsnap\u201d accessories<\/a>, we\u2019re also expecting an important shift in the silicon powering the phone, as Google moves to TSMC\u2019s advanced fabrication for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.androidauthority.com\/google-tensor-g5-specs-3493019\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tensor G5<\/a> chip. At this point, we\u2019re really just waiting to get our hands on the actual hardware.<\/p>\n<p>Late last month we heard about a lucky group that was getting early access to \u201cpre-release Pixel devices,\u201d strongly hinting at the presence of the Pixel 10. Google sent these invites out to members of its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.androidauthority.com\/pixel-10-launch-event-3562917\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Pixel Superfans group<\/a>, and told them that the chosen few would be able to attend a hands-on event in London scheduled for June 27.<\/p>\n<p>At the time, we wondered if that might indicate Google was thinking about sliding its launch plans up a little earlier in the year \u2014 maybe to some point in July, a few weeks ahead of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.androidauthority.com\/watch-google-pixel-9-launch-event-3470165\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">last year\u2019s August 13 Pixel 9 event<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>It didn\u2019t take long for a better theory to land, and within just a few days we were hearing about leaks that once again identified <a href=\"https:\/\/www.androidauthority.com\/pixel-10-possible-launch-date-3563208\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">August as Google\u2019s launch target<\/a> \u2014 first returning to that August 13 date, before later suggesting August 20, instead.<\/p>\n<p>Google has still not publicly confirmed its timetable for the Pixel 10 launch, but today the company has been reaching back out to those Pixel Superfans with some bad news. Here\u2019s what Google\u2019s been emailing them:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>While we\u2019re no longer able to extend invitations to the Pixel Penthouse event due to unforeseen circumstances, we\u2019re excited to offer you an exclusive alternative prize: an early invitation to our next event, Pixel Superfans Insider Event, on September 4th.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>It\u2019s unclear what manner of \u201cunforeseen circumstances\u201d might be involved here \u2014 for all we know it could be something as innocuous as a scheduling issue with the venue. What we don\u2019t want to do is jump to any speculation about Pixel 10 delays absent some real evidence in that direction. And for the moment, this is all just circumstantial.<\/p>\n<p>Still, we can\u2019t help but wonder what might actually be going on behind the scenes \u2014 even if there\u2019s a fair chance we\u2019ll never really know. For the moment, anyway, our sights are still squarely locked on August for our first chance to meet the Pixel 10 family.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Got a tip?
