Hollyoaks<\/a> star Nikki Sanderson has teased her “dramatic” final episodes as Maxine Minniver.<\/p>\n

The actor announced last month that she is stepping down from the Channel 4 soap<\/a> after a decade, with her final scenes set to air in May.<\/p>\n

Speaking to us ahead of her exit, she teased: “Whenever you leave a soap the only way to go is dramatically. <\/p>\n

“With Maxine\u2019s exit, it is a very dramatic last few episodes before she exits, however that may be. Everyone wants to leave on a high, a dramatic note.”<\/p>\n

In scenes set to air next week, Maxine exposes her ex Dodger Savage’s identity<\/a> as an undercover police officer<\/a> to Donny Clark, after she spots his bloody knuckles and confronts him about what he’s involved in.<\/p>\n

“In her mind she\u2019s weighing up the pros and cons, risks vs benefit shall we say! Maxine massively thinks by doing this it will be beneficial,” Sanderson explained <\/p>\n

“She\u2019d never do anything to hurt the people she loves ever, she truly cares about people and wants to look after and protect those around her. Going to the police comes from a genuine place of thinking this is going to help.” <\/p>\n

The pieces begin to fall into place for Grace Black, who previously accused Robbie Roscoe of being a mole, and Maxine and Dodger find themselves facing the wrath of the villain.<\/p>\n

Scared about what the future now holds, Dodger and Maxine discuss leaving the village together. But Maxine realises that Dodger needs to see this job through, so she tells him that he needs to stay and let her leave.<\/p>\n

When asked if she believes Dodger and Maxine can have their happy ending, together or apart, Sanderson shared: “Ultimately, she has to take everything into consideration. Will it work? She doesn\u2019t know. Would she like it to? Absolutely. <\/p>\n

“Also, she has Minnie to factor in, she needs to make sure whatever decision she makes is not only the best for her and Dodger, but more for Minnie. <\/p>\n

“Dodger understands that and respects that, he wants this to work and to run off together into the sunset for a happy ever after. But there is unfinished business that needs to be sorted out first.”<\/p>\n

Other upcoming scenes will see Maxine being held hostage by Grace, as seen in the new spring trailer<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“We’re supposed to have each other’s backs,” Grace says to a terrified Maxine.<\/p>\n
