Liverpool is set to see sunshine today before thunderstorms are set to hit. The Met Office said there will be sunny weather<\/a> from 10am until around 2pm on Friday, June 13.<\/p>\n It will then change to partly cloudy from 3pm until 6pm and rain is set to hit at around 9pm. The Met Office said: “A mixture of sunny spells but also a scattering of showers. These generally less intense than recent days and easing through the afternoon. Breezy to start and warm.”<\/p>\n Temperatures will reach highs of 23C and lows of 14C in Merseyside. The warm and sunny weather comes before thunderstorms are set to hit Merseyside on Saturday.<\/p>\n Heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected to hit the region on Saturday, with up to 8cm of rainfall in parts and “strong gusts” of wind and hail forecast. The Met Office has warned the weather<\/a> may “lead to some disruption” across Merseyside.<\/a><\/p>\n The yellow warning comes into place from midnight on Saturday, June 14 and ends at 6pm the same day.<\/p>\n A spokesperson for the weather forecaster <\/a>said: “Areas of heavy rain and some thunderstorms will move northwards across areas of England and Wales early on Saturday, reaching parts of southern Scotland later in the morning.<\/p>\n “After this first batch of rain moves north, further heavy showers and thunderstorms <\/a>are likely to break out in its wake. Rainfall will vary across the warning area and some places will avoid the heaviest rain.<\/p>\n “However, 10-20 mm of rain is likely to fall in some places in an hour or less, with potential for 30-50 mm to accumulate in a few hours. Event rainfall could reach 60-80 mm in some locations.<\/p>\n “Strong gusts and hail may also accompany some of the thunderstorms.”<\/p>\n The Met Office has warned Merseyside<\/a> could expect spray and sudden flooding, which could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures in parts.<\/p>\n There is a small chance that some communities become cut off by flooded roads and where flooding or lightning strikes occur, there is a chance of delays and some cancellations to train and bus services.<\/p>\n Power cuts could occur and there is a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded quickly, with damage to some buildings from floodwater, lightning strikes, hail or strong winds, said the Met Office.<\/p>\n It also warned of fast flowing or deep floodwater causing danger to life.<\/p>\n Join the Liverpool ECHO Breaking News and Top Stories WhatsApp community to receive the latest news straight to your phone by clicking here<\/a>.
