{"id":180900,"date":"2025-06-13T10:59:09","date_gmt":"2025-06-13T10:59:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/180900\/"},"modified":"2025-06-13T10:59:09","modified_gmt":"2025-06-13T10:59:09","slug":"emma-raducanu-responds-when-asked-if-she-has-any-advice-for-jack-draper-ahead-of-wimbledon-this-year","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/180900\/","title":{"rendered":"Emma Raducanu responds when asked if she has any advice for Jack Draper ahead of Wimbledon this year"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Emma Raducanu and Jack Draper, as the two British number ones, will go into Wimbledon full of hope.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>And, in turn, the nation will be equally as expectant that strong performances should follow.<\/p>\n<p>The British media can be scathing at times, but it does do a remarkable job of building up talent to the point where the whole country can get on board.<\/p>\n<p>The only issue is that it arguably then does an even better job of tearing them down when they fail to live up to expectations.<\/p>\n<p>With that in mind, <a href=\"https:\/\/tennishead.net\/tennis\/emma-raducanu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Emma Raducanu<\/a>, as a Grand Slam winner, has been asked to offer <a href=\"https:\/\/tennishead.net\/tag\/jack-draper\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jack Draper<\/a> some advice ahead of their return to <a href=\"https:\/\/tennishead.net\/tag\/wimbledon\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Wimbledon<\/a> later this month.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Emma Raducanu offers Wimbledon advice for Jack Draper<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>First touching on the <a href=\"https:\/\/tennishead.net\/tag\/queens\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Queen\u2019s<\/a> home crowd, she stated in her post-match interview: \u2019I mean, the atmosphere here, the last matches I\u2019ve played, singles, doubles, it\u2019s been amazing. Even for the doubles, you know, there\u2019s full stands on a big court. It\u2019s really nice to feel the support, feel the love and I love playing in moments like this with big crowds and, yeah, they\u2019re all supporting me, which is nice playing is a Brit here and, yeah, I mean, it\u2019s been a really nice event of HSBC Championships and I\u2019m so happy that the women have an event on.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Yeah, I love it. I hope that the tournament can stay here for longer.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Jack Draper &amp; Emma Raducanu\u2019s last 4 Wimbledon performances<\/p>\n<tr>\n<td\/>\n<td><strong>Emma Raducanu<\/strong><\/td>\n<td><strong>Jack Draper<\/strong><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>2024<\/td>\n<td>Fourth Round<\/td>\n<td>Second Round<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>2023<\/td>\n<td>Injured<\/td>\n<td>Injured<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>2022<\/td>\n<td>Second Round<\/td>\n<td>Second Round<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>2021<\/td>\n<td>Fourth Round<\/td>\n<td>First Round<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<p>Then asked about how that might translate to Wimbledon, and how Draper might deal with the improved weight of expectation, Raducanu suggested that he might not need her help: \u2018I know Jack is an incredible competitor, great tennis player and I think when he\u2019s out there in those moments on the court all he is seeing that yellow tennis ball and I think he shuts off the crowd and the pressure really well.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018He competes incredibly well and I think he\u2019ll do just fine.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>The 22-year-old finished by suggesting that the pressure of a home crowd has both its benefits and negatives: \u2018I think in the beginning, before my first round here, I was very nervous, but as I kind of get out on the court and I see how much the crowd is pulling and how much enjoyment I\u2019m also having out there, I think there are certain moments on the court where like, I\u2019m smiling and it\u2019s just spontaneous and it comes out, and I think that is when I\u2019m at my best.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018But yeah, it\u2019s definitely emphasised by, you know, playing here and it\u2019s an amazing crowd and, you know, the support as well.\u2019<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/tennishead.net\/greg-rusedski-predicts-how-far-he-thinks-jack-draper-will-go-at-wimbledon-this-year\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Greg Rusedski has predicted how far Draper will go at Wimbledon<\/a>, and is one of many who is very positive about the 22-year-old\u2019s chances. <\/p>\n<p><strong>Jack Draper and Emma Raducanu lead British hopes at Wimbledon<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Given both are now the new British number ones on the men\u2019s and women\u2019s side respectively, it should come as no surprise that Draper and Raducanu will uphold the bulk of British hopes at Wimbledon.<\/p>\n<p>The former in particular has climbed as high as fourth in the world, and has the perfect game to trouble the very best on grass.<\/p>\n<p>Raducanu, meanwhile, has already proven herself a threat at the All-England club, having stormed into the fourth round in 2024.
