As ever, Daniel Farke will want the best of the best, with next season bound to be a slog.

After two years of Championship football, Leeds United are back in the Premier League following what was a rather arduous 2024/25 season that went right down to the wire.

Leeds United won the Championship title on the final day of the season. Burnley ended up level on points with the Whites but missed out on the title owing to goal difference.

Daniel Farke has kept his job and it’s now being reported that Leeds United have a £150million transfer kitty for this summer, meaning one thing: we’re set to see some big spending at Elland Road this summer.

And that would explain the volume and quality of players linked with Leeds United so far this summer, with Farke looking ready to break the bank on a few players. Right now, it looks like Jaka Bijol’s proposed move to Leeds United is the most advanced of any possible deal.

Elsewhere, Brentford and Ukraine midfielder Yehor Yarmolyuk has been linked with a move to Leeds, per CaughtOffside.

Photo by Alex Davidson/Getty ImagesThomas Frank’s high praise for Leeds United target Yehor Yarmolyuk

Midfield is an area that Farke desperately needs to bolster. Earlier in the summer it was suggested that Leeds United wanted to re-sign Kalvin Phillips from Man City, though that link has gone somewhat cold. Other names like Emi Buendia, Finn Azaz, Gustavo Hamer and now Yarmolyuk are being linked.

Yarmolyuk, 21, joined Brentford from Dnipro-1 in 2022, featuring 27 times in the Premier League in 2023/24 and then 31 times in the Premier League last season, albeit without scoring or assisting. The youngster made his debut for Ukraine this year though, showing how highly-regarded he is.

MORE LEEDS UNITED STORIES

And former Bees boss Thomas Frank is huge fan of his, too, and his new Spurs side have also been linked alongside Leeds United with a move for Yarmolyuk. Speaking back in May, Frank said of Yarmolyuk: “The good thing with Yehor is that he’s one of the best trainers. He trains hard and with good intensity – that’s the best way to get into the team.” Frank went on to add: “He’s strong in duels and he has a drive to run forward. I like the way he distributes over the pitch.

“Yehor has a few development areas as he’s still a young player, but he is another good example of a Brentford player who will make us better in the future and who will also get better himself.”

Photo by Malcolm Couzens/Getty ImagesThe Leeds United transfer that could be in jeopardy after Thomas Frank to Spurs

Frank has finally got his chance at a so-called ‘bigger’ club and it’s a great move for him. But his arrival in North London could spell uncertainty for Leeds United in the transfer market with the two clubs sharing certain transfer targets.

One of whom is Kyle Walker-Peters. Since the start of the year, Leeds United have been linked with Walker-Peters who’s set to become a free agent, though Spurs are also rumoured to be interested in what would be a return for the full-back.

Elsewhere, Spurs handed a new contract to Ben Davies before Frank replaced Ange Postecoglou. Davies is a target for Leeds and Frank will no doubt want to take stock of his new players before allowing any to leave.

Then there’s James McAtee. Leeds United have been linked with McAtee throughout the year too, though previous reports suggested that he’s something of a key target for Tottenham now as well.

With Frank having only just taken over, expect a slowing down in Spurs’ transfer business, which could be an opening for Leeds. But on the whole, Frank may make Spurs a more attractive destination for some of Leeds United’s proposed transfer targets.

Leeds United have a tonne of names on their transfer radar.
