Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis expressed optimism in his regular Sunday post that a mutually beneficial trade agreement between the European Union and the United States can be found. It was the second time this week Mitsotakis reiterated the statement, following a Breitbart interview that prompted a positive reaction from Trump.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe can find a \u2018win-win\u2019 solution when it comes to trade between Europe and the United States,\u201d Mitsotakis said. \u201cA solution that would be mutually beneficial \u2013 a zero-tariff agreement, for example, between the EU and the US.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
Moreover, he welcomed signs of openness from Washington, noting recent announcements of tariff suspension as a positive step.<\/p>\n
\u201cI was pleased to hear President Trump express agreement with the Greek proposal, and of course, we, as the EU, welcome his announcement of a three-month suspension of the tariff policy,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
Mitsotakis further highlighted Greece\u2019s stance in advocating for a coordinated European response, warning against measures that could lead to further tensions.<\/p>\n
\u201cGreece consistently insisted from the outset on a unified response from the EU \u2013 one that would assess the new circumstances with composure and moderation, avoiding knee-jerk reactions and needless escalation,\u201d he noted.<\/p>\n
The prime minister also reaffirmed Greece\u2019s economic resilience and readiness to confront emerging global challenges.<\/p>\n
