A Bristol man who admitted that he kicked his dog three times said he was ‘stressed’ at the time.<\/p>\n

Ashley Thomas Doyle has now been banned from keeping animals for 10 years.<\/p>\n

The 26-year-old, of Gatehouse Avenue, Withywood<\/a>, pleaded guilty to an animal welfare offence, following an investigation and prosecution by the RSPCA.<\/p>\n

A concerned eye-witness contacted the animal charity and police after Doyle was seen kicking his dog Keisha three times while she was inside the boot of his car.<\/p>\n

Doyle was seen to open the boot of his car before kicking his dog three times and then closing it again.<\/p>\n

Alongside the 10-year animal disqualification order, which he can not appeal for seven years, he was ordered to carry out a 12-month community order, including up to 20 Rehabilitation Activity Requirement (RAR) days.<\/p>\n

He was also ordered to pay \u00a3400 costs and a \u00a3114 victim surcharge when he was sentenced at Bristol Magistrates Court. Keisha was also signed over to the RSPCA for rehoming.<\/p>\n

In mitigation, Doyle said he had been under stress at the time and is now remorseful.<\/p>\n
