Its startups raised just slightly more than \u20ac19 billion in 2024, reportedly the lowest amount since 2020. <\/p>\n<p>Nonetheless, the UK remains a driving force of Europe&#8217;s tech scene. <\/p>\n<p>According to the report, Cambridge has the highest concentration of tech talent in Europe, with an enterprise value of over \u20ac162 billion, with a population of just around 150,000 people. <\/p>\n<p>Density leaders are &#8220;ecosystems that outperform relative to their population size, showing exceptional innovation output per capita.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;These hubs are marked by high startup activity, research intensity, and strong university linkages, proving that world-class ecosystems can emerge anywhere&#8221;, says the report.<\/p>\n<p>Kyiv ranks as top European rising star as Lagos leads globally<\/p>\n<p>The report also ranks the top rising stars in Europe, depending on growth in enterprise value and unicorns,\u00a0which are privately-owned startups valued at over $1 billion, all of that adjusted to local GDP per capita and cost of living. <\/p>\n<p>Lagos in Nigeria is on top of this list globally, having created five unicorns and grown its ecosystem value by more than 11 times since 2017, despite being a smaller economy. <\/p>\n<p>In Europe, the top rising star is Kyiv, followed by Vilnius, Zagreb, Prague, Warsaw and Athens. <\/p>\n<p>Experts say Ukraine&#8217;s tech hub is booming, with tech professionals growing from an estimated 75,000 in 2014 to over 300,000 in 2023. <\/p>\n<p>The Ukrainian capital is home to over 1,000 tech firms, including Ajax Systems and Grammarly.<\/p>\n<p>A few months ago, the World Economic Forum chose Kyiv to open its new GovTech centre, to exchange best GovTech practices and innovative solutions.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"ADVERTISEMENT This year&#8217;s Global Tech Ecosystem Index has crowned Paris as the top tech hub on the continent.&hellip;\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":181381,"comment_status":"","ping_status":"","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[5174],"tags":[7960,2000,299,5187,1302,10546,3750,53],"class_list":{"0":"post-181380","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-eu","8":"tag-big-data","9":"tag-eu","10":"tag-europe","11":"tag-european","12":"tag-innovation","13":"tag-kyiv","14":"tag-start-up","15":"tag-technology"},"share_on_mastodon":{"url":"https:\/\/pubeurope.com\/@uk\/114676708827413954","error":""},"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/181380","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/2"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=181380"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/181380\/revisions"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/181381"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=181380"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=181380"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=181380"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
