{"id":181683,"date":"2025-06-13T17:52:11","date_gmt":"2025-06-13T17:52:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/181683\/"},"modified":"2025-06-13T17:52:11","modified_gmt":"2025-06-13T17:52:11","slug":"fashion-lovers-were-wowed-at-a-sensational-outdoor-catwalk-show-in-birmingham-with-talented-designers-you-may-know","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/181683\/","title":{"rendered":"Fashion lovers were wowed at a sensational outdoor catwalk show in Birmingham &#8211; with talented designers you may know"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dazzling fashion designs lit up a city square in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.expressandstar.com\/news\/local-hubs\/birmingham\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Birmingham<\/a> as it hosted a stunning catwalk show watched by special guests, including a <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/The_Pussycat_Dolls\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Pussycat Dolls<\/a> star.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/visitbirmingham.com\/event\/birmingham-city-university-presents-1000-threads\/160666101\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">BCU Presents: 1000 Threads<\/a> showcased 30 diverse and unique pieces from 10 talented students from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bcu.ac.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Birmingham City University<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>It was an incredible evening as striking models paraded the creations in the open air in Oozells Square, with onlookers including Kimberley Wyatt who performed a DJ set at the glamorous after party.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>BBC presenter and journalist Kathryn Stanczyszyn hosted the show which was attended by key people from the West Midlands fashion, design and creative industries and members of the public.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/50c2e764-9ba4-4992-a992-2116331fcb5c.jpg\"   alt=\"BCU fashion show in Ooozells Square in Brindleyplace, Birmingham\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"w-full max-w-none\"\/>BCU fashion show in Ooozells Square in Brindleyplace, Birmingham<\/p>\n<p>The catwalk was preceded by a VIP reception for invited guests at the Ikon Gallery and followed by a private viewing of an exhibition of pieces from this year\u2019s students.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The after-party featured more fashion pieces alongside beautiful designs from graduates and students from the School of Jewellery\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>It was sponsored by Brockmans Gin. The exhibition is open Monday \u2013 Friday between 9am \u2013 5pm until 27th June 2025.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/0aff865a-3680-4da9-90f6-8215f17eea70.jpg\"   alt=\"BCU Presents: 1000 Threads fashion show in Brindleyplace, Birmingham\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"w-full max-w-none\"\/>BCU Presents: 1000 Threads fashion show in Brindleyplace, BirminghamBirmingham\u2019s creativity is recognised around the world<\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s fashion show follows last week\u2019s announcement that Birmingham had been recognised as a World Craft City by the World Craft Council.<\/p>\n<p>Professor David Mba, Vice-Chancellor at BCU, said: \u201cBirmingham is an incredible city, both creative and collaborative.
