When King Charles<\/strong><\/a> celebrated the 35th anniversary of The King\u2019s Foundation with a star-studded awards ceremony on Thursday, much of the spotlight was on David Beckham<\/strong><\/a>. The former England captain, who has bonded with Charles over their love of beekeeping<\/a>, is rumored to be granted knighthood<\/a> when the king\u2019s Birthday Honours are announced on Saturday.<\/p>\n

However, Vanity Fair has learned that actor Kate Winslet<\/strong><\/a>, who also attended the awards ceremony at St James\u2019s Palace, will become an ambassador for The King\u2019s Foundation. The actor is already a supporter of the foundation\u2019s work, but there is talk of her role becoming more formal.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere have been early stage talks between Kate\u2019s people and the foundation,\u201d a source close to The King\u2019s Foundation told VF. \u201cKate would be honored to have an official role within the charity because of the amazing work it does for the environment and inspiring young people.\u201d<\/p>\n

The King\u2019s Foundation had no comment, however, royal sources have also hinted that Winslet is in line for a promotion. And judging by her body language, the Titanic star enjoys a relaxed and cordial relationship with the monarch and was overheard telling Charles, \u201cDon\u2019t worry, I\u2019ve got your back.\u201d<\/p>\n

A rep for Winslet did not immediately return Vanity Fair’s request for comment.<\/p>\n

The King\u2019s Foundation was founded by Charles in 1990 when he was still Prince of Wales and offers education courses for around 15,000 students. Its focus is to revitalize communities and help restore and protect historic buildings around Britain.<\/p>\n

Thursday\u2019s award ceremony was attended by Rod Stewart<\/a>, Penny Lancaster, Stanley Tucci<\/a><\/strong>, Alan Titchmarsh<\/strong> and Meryl Streep<\/strong><\/a>, among many others, who were all on hand to celebrate alumni, students and ambassadors of the monarch\u2019s organization.<\/p>\n

Among the award winners was Lisa Kay<\/strong>, the founder of Queen Camilla<\/strong><\/a>‘s favorite footwear brand, Sole Bliss, who had an intimate conversation with King Charles about Camilla\u2019s feet. Kay told Charles that, “Her Royal Highness has purchased our shoes, so hopefully she finds them comfortable.” His Majesty’s response was charmingly specific: “She likes a heel that’s not too narrow.” When Kay confirmed, “Yes, a block heel, I understand,” King Charles enthusiastically agreed: “Yes, a block heel!”<\/p>\n

Since 2018, Queen Camilla has worn the brand\u2019s shoes to 80 engagements.<\/p>\n

\u201cWalking through Windsor Castle to receive this honor from the ling, knowing that my shoes have walked these same corridors on Queen Camilla’s feet dozens of times, felt like the ultimate full-circle moment,\u201d Kay told VF.<\/p>\n

Elsewhere, Penny Lancaster, an ambassador, praised King Charles for his work. \u201cWe all know that the king has been at the forefront and sort of marching us along for more than 50 years.
