Eighteen people were arrested over a range of suspected offences – including drug driving, domestic abuse and theft – in a 24-hour Solihull<\/a> police blitz.<\/p>\n West Midlands Police’s Operation Advance returned to the market town yesterday, June 12.<\/p>\n Officers made 18 arrests and carried out drug and off-road bike raids during the day of action.<\/p>\n READ MORE: <\/strong>Biker who plummeted 30 feet thought he’d never walk again<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n Suspected offences included theft of motor vehicle, wounding, domestic abuse, harassment, and theft from shops.During the operation, police stopped 35 vehicles for checks and issued 30 tickets for illegal plates and tints.<\/p>\n Officers seized two vehicles for having no insurance and arrested two people on suspicion of serious assault and drug driving.<\/p>\n Police also seized a suspected stolen motorbike after conducting an operation around Babbs Mill Park to tackle off-road bikes.<\/p>\n Don’t miss the biggest and breaking stories by signing up to the BirminghamLive newsletter here<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n At night, officers conducted a speeding operation in Church Hill Road due to ongoing concerns.<\/p>\n A force spokesperson said: “Officers continued to showcase our partnership with Solihull council<\/a> and the West Midlands Violence Reduction Partnership in a collaborative effort to address violence in the area.<\/p>\n “The work is aimed at preventing and reducing violence by speaking with young people members of the community to understand its root causes and work together to address them.<\/p>\n
