{"id":182030,"date":"2025-06-13T20:57:19","date_gmt":"2025-06-13T20:57:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/182030\/"},"modified":"2025-06-13T20:57:19","modified_gmt":"2025-06-13T20:57:19","slug":"litter-louts-caught-out-as-cctv-spots-them-dumping-takeaway-rubbish","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/182030\/","title":{"rendered":"Litter louts caught out as CCTV spots them dumping takeaway rubbish"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>CCTV caught Mitchell Hedges and Christian Orton throwing litter from cars<\/p>\n<p>15:07, 13 Jun 2025Updated 15:07, 13 Jun 2025<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/0_KA_BEM130625_litter.jpg\" alt=\"Mitchell Hedges (left) and Christian Orton (right) dumping litter on Pelsall High Street\" loading=\"eager\"  \/>Mitchell Hedges (left) and Christian Orton (right) dumping litter on Pelsall High Street<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Two men who treated Pelsall High Street as a &#8216;dumping ground&#8217; have been hit with hefty court bills.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">CCTV caught Mitchell Hedges throwing takeaway litter from the open door of a Ford Ranger on January 13 this year &#8211; despite being in walking distance of a bin.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Hedges, of Goscote Lane, Pelsall, was fined \u00a340 for the offence at <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.birminghammail.co.uk\/\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Birmingham<\/a> Magistrates&#8217; Court on May 21.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \"><strong class=\"Strong_strong__e2x35\">READ MORE: <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.birminghammail.co.uk\/black-country\/midland-metro-trams-not-running-31852848\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Trams not running to Wolverhampton train station after signal failure<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">He was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of \u00a316, and associated costs of \u00a3180, bringing the total to \u00a3236.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Christian Orton, of Station Road, Derby, was also seen chucking takeaway food packaging from a car in the same location.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">He was caught twice &#8211; once on July 22, 2024, and then again five days later on July 28, 2024.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Orton was fined \u00a3440 for the offences during a hearing at Birmingham Magistrates&#8217; Court on May 28.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">He was also ordered to pay a \u00a3176 victim surcharge and \u00a3418.44 in other costs, bringing the total amount to \u00a31,034.44.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Following the court hearings, Councillor Adam Hicken, Walsall&#8217;s portfolio holder for children\u2019s and safer communities, said: \u201cIt&#8217;s disheartening to witness such blatant disregard for our local communities.
