{"id":182095,"date":"2025-06-13T21:30:18","date_gmt":"2025-06-13T21:30:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/182095\/"},"modified":"2025-06-13T21:30:18","modified_gmt":"2025-06-13T21:30:18","slug":"ashurst-care-home-in-heaton-inspected-by-cqc-watchdog","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/182095\/","title":{"rendered":"Ashurst Care Home in Heaton inspected by CQC watchdog"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n  Ashurst Care Home provides care for young people with complex mental health needs and is run by care provider Care in Mind.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The home, on Albert Road in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theboltonnews.co.uk\/local-news\/heaton-news\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Heaton<\/a>, was visited by inspectors from the Care Quality Commission (CQC) in April of this year.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  It had last been inspected in August of 2023, but a new inspection was needed because of the high number of statutory notifications the CQC received about the people in the care home.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Inspectors found that the home had maintained the standards of the last inspection and once again gave it an overall rating of &#8216;good&#8217;.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  They gave it a &#8216;good&#8217; rating for all six categories\u00a0\u2013 safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  <img   alt=\"The staff and residents at Ashurst said they are 'incredibly pleased' with the outcome of the inspection\" style=\"width: 100%;\"\/>The staff and residents at Ashurst said they are &#8216;incredibly pleased&#8217; with the outcome of the inspection (Image: Lauren Ugbode) Lauren Ugbode, Head of Operations at Care in Mind, said: &#8220;We are incredibly proud of the team at Ashurst for their dedication, professionalism, and heartfelt commitment to the young people in our care.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  &#8220;This latest CQC report is a clear reflection of the tireless work our staff do every day to create a safe, therapeutic, and empowering environment for those we support.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  \u201cAt Care in Mind, we understand that many of the young people who come to us have experienced considerable challenges, including multiple hospital admissions or placement breakdowns.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  &#8220;That\u2019s why our model is built around consistency, compassion, and evidence-based care.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  \u201cThe CQC\u2019s recognition of the team\u2019s skill and commitment reinforces our belief in our approach, and we are incredibly pleased that Ashurst is setting such a high standard.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  &#8220;We will continue working hard to deliver outstanding care, support our staff in their professional development, and ensure our services remain a place of hope and healing for those who need it most.&#8221;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Inspectors said that there were &#8220;robust systems in place&#8221; to support safety and manage risk, and that staff support the people in the home &#8220;to take part in activities and to pursue their interests&#8221;.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  They said: &#8220;They worked with people to plan for when they experienced periods of distress.&#8221;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  <img   alt=\"Ashurst Care Home in Heaton\" style=\"width: 100%;\"\/>Ashurst Care Home in Heaton (Image: Google Maps) Inspectors said that people staying at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theboltonnews.co.uk\/news\/health\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the home<\/a> are encourage to have &#8220;maximum choice and control of their lives&#8221;.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  They said that staff supported them &#8220;in the least restrictive way possible and in their best interests.&#8221;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The report said: &#8220;A relative told us they were impressed by how the transition to the placement was managed, they said, &#8216;My relative went and had a day visit and then an overnight visit before moving in.'&#8221;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Inspectors spoke with a relative of someone using the service, who called it \u201creally good\u201d and said the transition into was \u201cwell managed\u201d.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  They said: &#8220;I only go once a month and it is always nice and clean; they have games in the dining room, it\u2019s all really good.&#8221;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  <strong>Have a story?
