Former Manchester United<\/a> captain Roy Keane<\/a> claimed Arsenal<\/a> would storm to the Premier League<\/a> title if they had Liverpool<\/a> star Mohamed Salah<\/a> at their disposal.<\/p>\n Salah, 32, committed his future to Anfield this week by putting pen-to-paper on a new two-year contract<\/a>. It concluded months of speculation and public messages sent by Salah, who had previously claimed he was “more out than in”<\/a> on the red side of Merseyside. The news also came at the perfect time for Arne Slot’s<\/a> side, who are hoping to secure the Premier League title within the next few weeks.<\/p>\n Liverpool command a sizeable lead in the title race against Arsenal<\/a>, who have handed the initiative to the Reds by drawing four of their last six Premier League matches.<\/a><\/p>\n Despite the former United skipper enduring a fierce rivalry with Liverpool throughout his career, Keane admitted he was happy that Salah was convinced to sign on the dotted lines.<\/p>\n Speaking on Sky Sports<\/a>, Keane made both of his claims when he said: “No doubt he is a good example to all the young players. We see him doing it, week-in, week-out, scoring the goals and getting assists.<\/p>\n “If you put him in the Arsenal team, Arsenal would win the league this year, that\u2019s how special he is. I\u2019m kind of glad they got the deal done, because you want the top players to play in the Premier League.<\/p>\n “It was only a matter of time that they got it agreed. I think he deserves it. He\u2019s a special player and no doubt a good pro. You\u2019re on about making the changes the club have and making targets and not giving contracts to certain players, but every player can be different.<\/p>\n “We\u2019ve seen him get interviewed many times, he is a proper professional, a fitness freak and he is doing the business. That\u2019s why they had to give him the deal, they just couldn\u2019t let him go out the door on a free.\u201d<\/p>\n Despite failing to find the net against Everton<\/a> and Fulham<\/a> in the Reds’ last two matches, Salah has helped himself to 32 goals and 22 assists in all competitions this season. He was linked with a lucrative move to Saudi Arabia, before he signed his new deal.<\/p>\n Explaining his reasoning behind staying at Liverpool, Salah told the official Liverpool website<\/a>. “I\u2019m very excited. We have a great team now.<\/p>\n “Before also we had a great team. But I signed because I think we have a chance to win other trophies and enjoy my football.<\/p>\n “It\u2019s great, I had my best years here. I played eight years, hopefully it\u2019s going to be 10. Enjoying my life here, enjoying my football. I had the best years in my career.<\/p>\n “I would like to say to [the fans], I am very, very happy to be here. I signed here because I believe we can win a lot of big trophies together.
