Sir David Beckham<\/strong> <\/a>has described receiving a knighthood from King Charles III<\/strong> <\/a>as \u201ca truly humbling honor.\u201d<\/p>\n

The soccer player, 50, was awarded the prestigious honor<\/a> as part of the 2025 King\u2019s Birthday Honors list for his services to sport and charity.<\/p>\n

Beckham told British media on Friday, June 13 that he was \u201cproud\u201d to be recognized with the royal accolade.<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cGrowing up in East London with parents and grandparents who were so patriotic and proud to be British I never could have imagined I would receive such a truly humbling honor,\u201d Beckham said via a statement. \u201cTo have played for and captained my country was the greatest privilege of my career and literally a boyhood dream come true.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tAt long last, David Beckham is on the cusp of receiving his long-awaited knighthood.\u00a0 Beckham, 50, will be given a knighthood in King Charles\u2018 birthday honors list, according to reports published by BBC Sport and The Times on Thursday, June 5.\u00a0 The declaration comes after decades of Beckham being at the forefront of British culture [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n

As well as being one of England\u2019s most celebrated athletes thanks to his career playing as a midfielder for Manchester United as well as captaining England\u2019s national soccer team, Beckham has put a lot of his energy into charitable causes over the years.<\/p>\n

\u201cOff the pitch, I have been fortunate to have the opportunity to represent Britain around the world and work with incredible organisations that are supporting communities in need and inspiring the next generation,\u201d Beckham continued in the statement.<\/p>\n

He added: \u201cI\u2019m so lucky to be able to do the work that I do and I\u2019m grateful to be recognised for work that gives me so much fulfilment. It will take a little while for the news to sink in but I\u2019m immensely proud and it\u2019s such an emotional moment for me to share with my family.\u201d<\/p>\n

In addition to his sporting career, charitable causes and knighthood, the soccer star is married to former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham.<\/strong> The couple share four children<\/a>: Brooklyn<\/strong>, 26, Romeo<\/strong>, 22, Cruz,<\/strong> 20, and Harper<\/strong>, 13, on Saturday, June 14.<\/p>\n

Following his knighthood, David can now be called \u201cSir David Beckham\u201d while Victoria will be able to be addressed as \u201cLady Victoria Beckham.\u201d<\/p>\n

The news comes amid reports there is ongoing family drama within the Beckham clan, with Brooklyn and his wife Nicola Peltz, 30, reportedly distancing themselves from David and Victoria.<\/p>\n

A source previously told Us Weekly<\/a> that Brooklyn and Nicola \u201cfound out about the knighthood through the media\u201d and they have not yet been invited to witness the historic moment when the knighthood ceremony occurs.<\/p>\n

The Beckham family feud came to a head in early May, when Brooklyn and Nicola both did not attend David\u2019s 50th birthday party in London.<\/p>\n
