GARETH Southgate looks to have retired as a football manager \u2014 by changing his profession on paper to \u201ccompany director\u201d.<\/strong><\/p>\n

His last match in charge of England was last summer, when Spain beat the Three Lions 2-1 in the Euro 2024 final<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The 54-year-old<\/a> said after leaving the England job<\/a> that he would not return to a coaching role for at least a year.<\/p>\n

Now former England<\/a> defender Gareth has given his clearest indication yet that he is packing in football management for good.<\/p>\n

Documents for MAS Inv\u00adestment Holdings Limited \u2014 the business that handles his \u00a36.2million property portfolio \u2014 reveal he has changed his profession from \u201cfootball manager\u201d to \u201ccompany director\u201d.<\/p>\n

The move seems to back up Gary Lineker<\/a>, who said after the Euro 2024 final: \u201cI suspect this might be his last game in management.\u201d<\/p>\n

Gareth, who lives in North Yorkshire<\/a> with wife Alison<\/a>, had been tipped for a Premier League<\/a> job, and was linked with Man United<\/a> before they hired Ruben Amorim<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Instead, he has been taking on temporary roles. <\/p>\n

Gareth is a technical observer for European football\u2019s ruling body Uefa and a visiting lecturer at Harvard Business School<\/a> in the US.<\/p>\n

He is also writing a self-help book, which is to focus on leadership.<\/p>\n

It is expected to feature some of the lessons he learned while guiding the Three Lions to two successive European Championship finals.<\/p>\n
