Chilling footage shows the moment ex-footballer Kye Lemathy, 21, fired a gun at a man in Aston, Birmingham, as terrified pedestrians were walking by on October 12 last year\"Chilling<\/p>\n

Harrowing CCTV footage captured the moment a gunman unleashed shots in the street, with his target desperately using a bystander as a “human shield” to dodge the bullets.<\/p>\n

Ex-footballer Kye Lemathy, 21, was spotted on shocking CCTV footage firing at a man in Aston, Birmingham<\/a>, while unsuspecting pedestrians were nearby on October 12 last year.<\/p>\n

At one stage, the man being shot at seems to grab an unwitting member of the public as a human shield to thwart Lemathy from shooting his revolver once more.<\/p>\n

The ex-Walsall FC academy player was nicked after he himself was knifed during the fracas, which erupted close to Aston Villa’s home ground, Villa Park.<\/p>\n

Cops called to the crossroads of Witton Road and Endicott Road around 7.45pm discovered that those involved had scarpered from the scene.<\/p>\n

Sleuths later pegged Lemathy as a participant in the ruckus and he was collared following his release from hospital.<\/p>\n

Lemathy, hailing from Perry Barr<\/a>, Birmingham, admitted to possession of a firearm with intent back in April.<\/p>\n

He’s been put behind bars for nine years and nine months at Birmingham Crown Court on Tuesday (3\/6).<\/p>\n

The court heard how the once-promising footballer, formerly on Walsall<\/a> FC’s roster, plunged into narcotics and criminality after being let go by the team.<\/p>\n

On the day of the gunplay, he’d been embroiled in a spat with two blokes near a bus stop whilst on his e-bike.<\/p>\n

He then legged it back to his place to get the gun before getting stabbed by a Gulf petrol station as the row intensified.<\/p>\n

Lemathy then retaliated by firing at least two shots from his revolver at the pair before fleeing the scene.<\/p>\n
