The posts suggest the launch would occur during a July Samsung Unpacked event, and that the headset would &#8220;slowly slowly&#8221; expand globally.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">First South Korea, than Slowly Slowly Globally.<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 PandaFlash \ud835\udd4f (@PandaFlashPro) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/PandaFlashPro\/status\/1932802486143742414?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw&amp;ref=uploadvr.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">June 11, 2025<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>However, other rumors suggest that the July Samsung Unpacked event will take place in New York City, and it would seem rather strange to launch a product for Korea in a US city.<\/p>\n<p>Specific Details Remain Sparse<\/p>\n<p>Samsung&#8217;s headset was first announced well over two years ago, with the company saying from the start that Google would handle the software and Qualcomm would provide the chipset.<\/p>\n<p>That chipset was revealed at the start of last year to be the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uploadvr.com\/qualcomm-snapdragon-xr2-plus-gen-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2<\/a>, a higher-end variant of the chip in Quest 3 and Quest 3S, which has already shipped in Play For Dream MR.<\/p>\n<p>The actual design of Samsung&#8217;s headset was finally revealed in December, alongside Google formally naming Android XR, and Samsung <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uploadvr.com\/samsung-android-xr-headset-ships-in-2025-hands-on\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said<\/a> it would ship it as a product in 2025 as it gave UploadVR&#8217;s Ian Hamilton a hands-on demo.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"kg-bookmark-container\" href=\"https:\/\/www.uploadvr.com\/samsung-android-xr-headset-ships-in-2025-hands-on\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><\/p>\n<p>Hands-On With Samsung\u2019s Android XR Headset, Shipping In 2025<\/p>\n<p>Samsung\u2019s first standalone headset is coming in 2025, running Google\u2019s new Android XR operating system and powered by Qualcomm\u2019s\u00a0Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 chipset.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Samsung-Android-XR-headset-Project-Moohan-5.png\" alt=\"\" onerror=\"this.style.display = 'none'\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>While Samsung hasn&#8217;t confirmed any further details since then, in March we saw multiple South Korean reports with claims about the headset&#8217;s displays, production scale, and launch window.<\/p>\n<p>The Elec <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uploadvr.com\/samsungs-headset-will-feature-sony-4k-micro-oled-displays\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported<\/a> that Samsung&#8217;s headset will use Sony&#8217;s new 1.35-inch 3552\u00d73840 micro-OLED display, with higher resolution and wider color gamut than the one in Apple Vision Pro.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Business Post <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uploadvr.com\/samsung-headset-could-launch-in-q3-with-a-very-high-price\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">claimed<\/a> that Samsung will launch the headset in Q3 (July, August, or September), but also that it plans to produce just 100,000 headsets per year, suggesting a very high price.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"kg-bookmark-container\" href=\"https:\/\/www.uploadvr.com\/xreals-project-aura-android-xr-tethered-compute\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><\/p>\n<p>Xreal Project Aura Supports Android XR Via Tethered Puck<\/p>\n<p>Xreal\u2019s Project Aura will support Google\u2019s Android XR via a tethered compute puck with a Qualcomm Snapdragon chip.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Xreal-Project-Aura-1.png\" alt=\"\" onerror=\"this.style.display = 'none'\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We had expected either Google or Samsung to share more about the headset at I\/O in May, but the focus there was far more on smart glasses, as well as the announcement of the second officially confirmed Android XR headset, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uploadvr.com\/xreals-project-aura-android-xr-tethered-compute\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Xreal&#8217;s Project Aura<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>    <script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Could Samsung&#8217;s first standalone XR headset launch next month, but only in South Korea?
