Florian Wirtz is set to become one of Liverpool<\/a>‘s highest-paid players after sealing a sensational \u00a3116million move from Bayer Leverkusen.<\/p>\n

Mail Sport revealed earlier this week that the Premier League<\/a> champions had finalised terms on the club record transfer, agreeing an initial \u00a3100m fee that could rise to \u00a3116m based on performance-related bonuses \u2014 including winning the Champions League<\/a> and Premier League with Wirtz playing a key role.<\/p>\n

And while the 22-year-old’s medical is expected to take place once he returns from holiday, Mail Sport understands that personal terms have already been agreed, with Wirtz choosing Liverpool over Bayern Munich<\/a>, Manchester City<\/a> and Real Madrid<\/a> weeks ago.<\/p>\n

According to Sky Sports, Wirtz will earn a base salary of \u20ac12million (\u00a310.21m) per year \u2014 roughly \u00a3195,000 a week.<\/p>\n

That could reportedly rise to \u20ac15m (\u00a312.77m) \u2014 more than \u00a3245,000 a week \u2014 if individual and team bonuses are triggered.<\/p>\n

Those figures puts him near the top bracket of Liverpool’s earners \u2014 but still behind the club’s two biggest stars.<\/p>\n

Wirtz will secure a significant pay-rise when he finally swaps Bayer Leverkusen for Liverpool<\/p>\n

Mohamed Salah’s new deal, signed in April, is worth \u00a3380,000 per week.<\/p>\n

The Egyptian, 32, remains central to Liverpool’s plans under Arne Slot and committed to a fresh contract amid speculation linking him with interest from Saudi Arabia.\u00a0<\/p>\n

But captain Virgil van Dijk is the club’s highest earner.<\/p>\n

The Dutch defender signed a two-year extension, also in April, worth around \u00a3400,000 per week.<\/p>\n

Wirtz is expected to slot into a No 10 role under Slot but he can also play wide, deeper in midfield, or as a false nine.<\/p>\n

He registered 10 goals and 12 assists in the Bundesliga last season and was instrumental as Leverkusen pushed Bayern Munich all the way in the title race \u2014 a year on from their league and cup double.<\/p>\n

He has already held talks with Slot and even viewed properties in Cheshire in preparation for the move.<\/p>\n

Those close to the player say he is ecstatic about the chance to play alongside stars like Salah and has described the move as a ‘done deal’ in recent days.<\/p>\n

But captain Virgil van Dijk will NOT be replaced as the Reds player with the highest weekly pay<\/p>\n

Mo Salah, who signed a new deal in April, will also earn more than Wirtz at Anfield next season<\/p>\n

Wirtz will become only the 10th footballer in history to command a nine-figure fee.<\/p>\n

He joins Neymar, Kylian Mbappe, Philippe Coutinho, Joao Felix, Enzo Fernandez, Antoine Griezmann, Jack Grealish, Declan Rice and Moises Caicedo in that club.<\/p>\n

But Liverpool do not view Wirtz as a vanity signing.<\/p>\n

They see him as the centrepiece of a carefully laid plan between manager Slot and sporting director Richard Hughes \u2013 a marquee arrival to usher in a bold new era.<\/p>\n
