Qualfying: Stojsavljevic gets off to winning start in Nottingham<\/p>\n
Grass court tennis got underway in Nottingham on Saturday, with several British stars bidding to reach this week\u2019s main draws for the Lexus Nottingham Open.<\/p>\n
16-year-old Mika Stojsavljevic<\/strong> is one match away from her WTA main draw debut after she defeated world No.111 Anasatasia Zakharova 6-2, 6-4.<\/p>\n In the next round she\u2019ll play France\u2019s Leolia Jeanjean<\/strong>, who knocked out Britain\u2019s Heather Watson<\/strong> 6-4, 6-1 on Centre Court earlier in the afternoon.<\/p>\n Former runner-up Jodie Burrage<\/strong> also bowed out against world No.87 Anca Todini<\/strong> 7-6(2), 6-1 in an hour and 40 minutes.<\/p>\n Amarni Banks<\/strong> put in a strong performance against world No.83 Kamilla Rakhimova but lost out in three sets 6-3, 1-6, 6-3.<\/p>\n In the men\u2019s draw, Arthur Fery<\/strong> cruised past third seed Kyrian Jacquet 6-2, 6-1, to set up a second round clash with Ugo Blanchet<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Paul Jubb<\/strong> made it two Brits in to the second round as he knocked out Juan Pablo Ficovich 7-5, 6-3.
