A man has been charged after six people were injured during an incident in Perry Barr.<\/p>\n

Police and paramedics were sent to Aston Lane on Thursday after a man made his way on to the roof of a property.<\/p>\n

The main route and surrounding roads, including Kenilworth Road and London Road, were sealed off and residents were evacuated from nearby homes.<\/p>\n

West Midlands Police said Joshua Brivett, 24, has been charged with wounding, assault, aggravated burglary, criminal damage, and threats to kill.<\/p>\n

He is due to appear before Birmingham Magistrates Court on Saturday (June 14).<\/p>\n

Six people, including three police officers, were injured as a suspect barricaded themselves inside an address in a three-hour siege.<\/p>\n

Negotiators and specialist officers” were brought in to bring the incident to a safe conclusion.<\/p>\n

The force said: “A man has been charged with a number of offences following an incident in Handsworth on Thursday (12 June).<\/p>\n

“Joshua Brivett has been charged with multiple offences including wounding, assault, aggravated burglary, criminal damage, and threats to kill.<\/p>\n

“The 24-year-old was remanded in custody to appear at Birmingham<\/a> Magistrates Court today.”<\/p>\n
