Merseyside Police confirmed emergency services attended the scene, but she was pronounced dead. An investigation is ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the incident and the cause of her death. A massive police presence could be seen outside the hotel this afternoon, with multiple police cars and vans parked on Lord Nelson Street and Holtham Street. CSI officers in white suits could be seen going in and out of the hotel, while part of the street was cordoned off by police.\" decoding=\"sync\"\/><br \/>\n\t\tPolice were called after the woman was found unconscious (Picture: Liverpool Echo)<\/p>\n<p>A woman who was found unconscious in a <a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/liverpool-fc\/\" data-track=\"inline-tag-auto-link_article\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Liverpool<\/a> city centre hotel has died.<\/p>\n<p><a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/merseyside\/\" data-track=\"inline-tag-auto-link_article\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Merseyside<\/a> Police were called to the Lord Nelson Hotel on Hotham Street on Friday afternoon, after a woman was found unconscious.<\/p>\n<p>Emergency workers tried to save her, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.<\/p>\n<p>The force has launched an investigation into her death and say the circumstances are \u2018unexplained\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>A massive police presence could be seen outside the hotel this afternoon, with multiple police cars and vans parked on Lord Nelson Street and Holtham Street. <\/p>\n<p>CSI officers in white suits could be seen going in and out of the hotel, while part of the street was cordoned off by police.<\/p>\n<p>A number of people residing at the hotel reported being told not to leave their rooms. One woman told the Liverpool ECHO that residents on the top floor of the three-storey building had been told to stay inside.<\/p>\n<p>Another man, who lived on the second floor, said he had been told he was not allowed to go back into his room, and had no idea when he would be able to get back inside.<\/p>\n<p>They\u2019re appealing for witnesses and for anyone with information to come forward.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Got a story?
