{"id":185402,"date":"2025-06-15T03:52:09","date_gmt":"2025-06-15T03:52:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/185402\/"},"modified":"2025-06-15T03:52:09","modified_gmt":"2025-06-15T03:52:09","slug":"jannik-sinner-reflects-on-the-roland-garros-final-against-carlos-alcaraz-one-week-on","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/185402\/","title":{"rendered":"Jannik Sinner reflects on the Roland Garros final against Carlos Alcaraz one week on"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>It\u2019s been almost a week since one of the greatest finals in Grand Slam history, and Jannik Sinner is set to play again. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/news\/jannik-sinner-confirms-what-hes-planning-to-do-after-losing-the-french-open-final-to-carlos-alcaraz\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Carlos Alcaraz defeated Sinner<\/a> in the French Open final, coming back from two sets down to clinch his second consecutive <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/Roland-Garros\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Roland Garros<\/a> title. <\/p>\n<p>The match, lasting five hours and 29 minutes, marked the third time in the Open Era that a men\u2019s player has lost a major final after having match points. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/features\/what-happened-to-the-other-two-men-who-lost-a-grand-slam-after-having-championship-point-just-like-jannik-sinner\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sinner joined Roger Federer and Guillermo Coria<\/a> as the third man to have the undesirable statistic attached to his name, after failing to capitalise on three championship points in the fourth set. <\/p>\n<p>The Italian will now enter the Halle Open, where he\u2019ll play his first match since the loss to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/carlos-alcaraz\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Alcaraz<\/a>, which he reflected on ahead of the grass-court tournament. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" loading=\"lazy\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/GettyImages-2218654186-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"Jannik Sinner reacts after losing the 2025 French Open final\" class=\"wp-image-100250\" \/>Photo by THIBAUD MORITZ\/AFP via Getty ImagesJannik Sinner reflects on the French Open final one week on<\/p>\n<p>Speaking ahead of his Halle Open campaign, Sinner said of the Roland Garros final: \u201cIt was for sure a tough loss. Looking back, I still think about those couple of points.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd it won\u2019t stop here. I know that. But in another way, I am happy to be here, I\u2019m happy to start a new tournament \u2013 I think this helps me get back into match rhythm.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLet\u2019s see how I\u2019m gonna react. You can\u2019t see the negative side, but you can still see the positive side.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve never played tennis on clay like this. I went into Rome, and I made the final there. I played in Paris and made the final of a Grand Slam.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s amazing.
