The latest Manchester United transfer news as more reports have emerged around Viktor Gyokeres<\/p>\n

Manchester United have been handed a blow in their hopes of signing Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeres<\/a> this summer, with the player reportedly ready to turn down the chance of a move to Old Trafford<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The 27-year-old has established himself as one of the most dangerous strikers in Europe since moving to Sporting. In his 102 appearances in the Portuguese league, he has scored 97 goals.<\/p>\n

Reports in Portugal over the weekend suggested that the Sweden international had rejected a move to United<\/a>. That would see him give up the chance of a reunion with former manager Ruben Amorim<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The United<\/a> boss is keen to add further to his squad following the \u00a362.5 million arrival of Matheus Cunha. A key target was Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap, but he opted for a \u00a330 million move to Chelsea<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It now seems that another transfer target, Gyokeres, has made his feelings known on a transfer. The Guardian<\/a> report that Gyokeres\u2019 representatives have told the club that he does not wish to join.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s then added that the striker views a move to Arsenal as his preferred option due to the club playing in the Champions League<\/a> next season. The player is reported to have said that signing for Arsenal would be a \u201cdream.\u201d<\/p>\n

A disappointing season in 2024\/25 means that United are unable to offer any European football in the upcoming season due to a 15th-place Premier League<\/a> finish and a loss in the Europa League<\/a> final against Tottenham.<\/p>\n

United are, however, working on a deal to sign Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo. The player is keen to sign for the club, with United expected to pay a fee in the region of around \u00a360 million if a deal is completed.<\/p>\n
