Birmingham City have joined Wrexham in the battle to sign Blackburn Rovers captain Lewis Travis as speculation intensifies over his future.<\/p>\n
Travis is approaching the final year of his contract at Ewood Park, but so far Rovers have been unable to find a breakthrough on a new deal for the midfielder.<\/p>\n
Blackburn have offered Travis a new three-year deal, but the 27-year-old is waiting for an acceptable offer, according to journalist Alan Nixon.<\/p>\n

Read our Privacy Notice.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n Losing Travis would be a particular blow, and Rovers fan pundit for FLW, Simon Middlehurst, insisted supporters would be angry if he were to move to Derby.<\/p>\n “Obviously, he’s the club captain, he was massive for us last season and has been a key part of the club in the past three years, so to sell him would be a massive blow,” he said.<\/p>\n “The club need to keep fans onside, so to sell him to Derby would be a massive blow given what happened last season with Eustace.”<\/p>\n Of transfer links with promoted Wrexham, who are owned by Hollywood duo Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, Middlehurst added: “Obviously, their story is well-known, but to sell Travis at all just shows the wrong direction Rovers are going in.<\/p>\n “I personally think it shows a serious lack of intent, and it wouldn’t go down well with the fans whatsoever.”<\/p>\n
