{"id":186298,"date":"2025-06-15T12:11:19","date_gmt":"2025-06-15T12:11:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/186298\/"},"modified":"2025-06-15T12:11:19","modified_gmt":"2025-06-15T12:11:19","slug":"everton-scouts-impressed-by-8-5m-leeds-united-target-and-are-now-primed-to-make-a-move","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/186298\/","title":{"rendered":"Everton scouts impressed by \u00a38.5m Leeds United target and are now &#8216;primed&#8217; to make a move"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Everton have been linked to a whole host of players both domestically and on the continent. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.everton.news\/club\/manager\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">David Moyes<\/a> has a big summer transfer window on his hands as several first-teamers are departing upon the expiry of their contracts.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.everton.news\/club\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Everton<\/a> boss has admitted it\u2019s not an ideal scenario and he doesn\u2019t really want a major squad overhaul, but it\u2019s become a necessity. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.everton.news\/tag\/dominic-calvert-lewin\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dominic Calvert-Lewin is the latest Everton star expected to leave<\/a>, so clearly there\u2019s a pressing need to sign a striker.<\/p>\n<p>Villarreal\u2019s centre-forward <a href=\"https:\/\/www.everton.news\/thierno-barry-u-turn-at-everton-as-the-friedkins-react-to-villarreal-talks\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Thierno Barry is on Moyes\u2019 radar<\/a>, and the Friedkin Group are reportedly ready to meet his \u00a333m release clause.<\/p>\n<p>A full-back is also on the agenda, following <a href=\"https:\/\/www.everton.news\/everton-star-open-to-premier-league-move-after-rejecting-offer-from-the-friedkin-group\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ashley Young\u2019s exit<\/a>, and now it\u2019s just surfaced that Everton are weighing up a move for one in Germany.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1920\" height=\"1280\" loading=\"lazy\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/GettyImages-2205270545-scaled.jpg\" alt=\"Mainz right-back Anthony Caci.\" class=\"wp-image-77686\" \/>Photo by Alex Grimm\/Getty ImagesEverton weigh up move for Anthony Caci<\/p>\n<p>Seamus Coleman isn\u2019t getting any younger, and Young\u2019s exit makes a right-back a top priority this summer.<\/p>\n<p>With that said, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.teamtalk.com\/everton\/transfer-news-show-serious-interest-versatile-bundesliga-star-wanted-fulham\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">TEAMtalk<\/a>, Everton are \u2018primed\u2019 to make a move for Mainz fullback Anthony Caci.<\/p>\n<p>Scouts have been watching Caci for a while and evidently have been impressed by his performances for the Bundesliga outfit.<\/p>\n<p>The 27-year-old\u2019s current deal expires next summer, so he is thought to be available for a bargain fee of around \u00a38.5m.<\/p>\n<p>Caci, who represented France at youth level, is extremely versatile as he can also ply his trade as a left-back, which would provide good competition for Vitaliy Mykolenko.<\/p>\n<p>Leeds United and Fulham to rival Everton for Caci<\/p>\n<p>Newly-promoted Leeds United are also reportedly eyeing a move for Caci following Junior Firpo\u2019s departure.<\/p>\n<p>Daniel Farke\u2019s side have around \u00a3100m to spend this window, so they certainly aren\u2019t short of cash and will be appealing.<\/p>\n<p>Fulham\u2019s interest appears the most advanced, though, as they held talks over a deal back in January, so they\u2019re well aware of his situation.<\/p>\n<p>Caci actually played predominantly as a wing-back last term, so that may be the only concern for Moyes and his staff.<\/p>\n<p>The Frenchman would certainly need to adjust to a new system should he make the switch to Merseyside.<\/p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Everton have been linked to a whole host of players both domestically and on the continent.
