Dimitrov makes last-minute withdrawal from Queen’s Club Championships

It has been a challenging year for Grigor Dimitrov, who has recently made unwanted history after retiring at his last four Grand Slam tournaments due to injury.

Dimitrov won the first two sets of his first round match against Ethan Quinn at Roland Garros this year, but was forced to retire after losing the third due to a thigh issue.

The Bulgarian has already retired from four matches this year, and has now postponed the start to his grass court season.

Despite appearing in the draw for the Queen’s Club Championships, where Dimitrov won the title in 2014, he has now withdrawn from the tournament.

<blockquote withdrawing from the prestigious grass court event.

The world number 19 is not scheduled to play any more tournaments before Wimbledon, and is now in a race against time for the Grand Slam where he is a former semi-finalist.

Who are the top seeds at the Queen’s Club Championships this year?

While there have been many big name withdrawals from the tournament this year, the field is still led by five-time Grand Slam champion <a who has now arrived at Queen’s.

Alcaraz won the Queen’s title in 2023, and with Dimitrov’s withdrawal is now the only former singles champion in the draw.

In his first tournament since winning Roland Garros, Alcaraz will face strong competition from the likes of Jack Draper, <a href="https://www.thetennisgazette.com/tag/taylor-fritz/"
