\n\tInternet trolls are making a mockery of Donald Trump<\/a>\u2018s beloved military<\/a> parade that took place Saturday in Washington, D.C., on the president\u2019s birthday, though it was ostensibly in honor of the U.S. Army\u2019s 250th birthday. <\/p>\n

\n\tAccounts on X (formerly Twitter) shared video of other countries\u2019 military parades with soldiers marching in synchronized lockstep surrounded by enthusiastic and large crowds, comparing them to the spectacle in D.C. on Saturday.<\/p>\n

\n\tOne account, which Puck News\u2019 Julia Ioffe identified as Russian, juxtaposed footage of members of the North Korean military marching in exact sync, comparing it to video of U.S. Army troops marching in Trump\u2019s parade accompanied by much less fanfare. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cHow Trump imagined his parade [vs] What he actually saw,\u201d the caption read, according to Ioffe. The contrast is staggering, as the North Korean troops high-stepped in perfect unison compared to the Army\u2019s less synchronized and seemingly less enthusiastic marching. Some have pointed out that members of the U.S. Army may have been ordered to march in \u201cRoute Step March\u201d or \u201cAt Ease March,\u201d<\/a> a more relaxed and less rigorous type of marching. <\/p>\n

\n\tOne account posted video of Mexico\u2019s annual Mexican Independence Day parade in Mexico City, while another shared footage of India\u2019s Republic Day parade. <\/p>\n

Depressing that even USAs biggest and most expensive parade is still dogshit in comparison to Mexicos Independence Day parade.
As well countless countries from around the world fly all over to march in theirs.<\/p>\n

\n\tTrump has praised other countries for their military parades. When he watched a 2017 Bastille Day celebration in France, Trump told reporters<\/a>, \u201cIt was one of the greatest parades I\u2019ve ever seen\u2026 We\u2019re going to have to try to top it.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tWashington Post columnist Karen Tumulty pointed out <\/a>that Trump\u2019s admiration of military spectacle goes even farther back. Before he was inaugurated to his first term, Trump told Tumulty in an interview<\/a>, \u201cWe\u2019re going to show the people as we build up our military, we\u2019re going to display our military.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThat military may come marching down Pennsylvania Avenue,\u201d Trump continued. \u201cThat military may be flying over New York City and Washington, D.C., for parades. I mean, we\u2019re going to be showing our military.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tDemocratic Gov. Gavin Newsom of California said called the parade \u201ca vulgar display\u201d during a news conference on Friday. \u201cIt\u2019s the kind of thing you see Kim Jong Un, you see Putin, you see with dictators around the world that are weak,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\n\tMeanwhile, as Trump was celebrating his the Army\u2019s birthday in D.C., which reportedly cost<\/a> up to $45 million, masses of people that dwarfed the parade turnout showed up across the country for No Kings protests<\/a> against him. An estimated 5 million people<\/a> participated in protests across 2,100 cities in the U.S. while troops in D.C. marched past sometimes empty stands.<\/p>\n
