Jamie Webster<\/a> was supported by fans as he teased a major announcement. The Scouse singer-songwriter<\/a> had a busy 2024 as he released his third album, 10 For The People, in March and performed at festivals<\/a> across the UK.<\/p>\n This included Glastonbury in June<\/a>, which marked his third successive year performing at Worthy Farm. Jamie’s biggest live show yet took place over the summer<\/a> in Sefton Park<\/a> where over 3,000 people watched him perform at In The Park, with a star-studded cast of extras including Ricky Tomlinson, Dave McCabe from the Zutons and Ian McCulloch of Echo and the Bunnymen.<\/p>\n He also married his long-term partner Rachael in a ceremony abroad. One of Jamie\u2019s earliest hits was Weekend in Paradise, which was tested for years on the pub circuits and LFC-themed Boss Nights before being released in 2020.<\/p>\n This morning, Jamie took to X\/Twitter<\/a> and Instagram to share the news that the single had gone gold. In a lengthy post, the musician paid tribute to his fans for making this possible.<\/p>\n He said: \u201cNo radio playlists, no TV adverts or even TV performances, no industry backing. Just a real tune with a real meaning supported by real people.<\/p>\n \u201cI remember writing it in a log cabin in the lakes whilst having my morning coffee and when I played the chorus for the first time, it made Rachael (my wife) stop what she was doing and I remember her saying ‘that’s boss that Jay’.<\/p>\n \u201cI remember the excitement at the thought that this song could take me somewhere else. Thankfully I was right. Five\/six years on and here we are.<\/p>\n \u201cFor someone like me who relies on the people (because I can’t rely on the industry), this moment is such a big one. Thanks to everyone who believed in me and to everyone who still does.\u201d<\/p>\n Jamie ended the message by teasing a major announcement in his career. He said: \u201cThe \u2018tastemakers\u2019 aren’t always right. Sometimes the people decide.<\/p>\n \u201cEnjoy the sunshine this weekend and make sure it’s one in paradise for me. I’ve got big things coming soon. About to make the biggest move I’ve ever made. Love the bones of you all.\u201d<\/p>\n It\u2019s not clear what Jamie could be referring to. He finished a tour of Europe and Australia at the turn of the year. He will be playing at Haydock<\/a> Park Racecourse for the first time on June 21.<\/a><\/p>\n Many friends of Jamie sent messages of support to him following his post. Pianist Brad Kella said: \u201cBelter Jamie lad.\u201d Famous Liverpool band The Farm said: \u201cCongratulations.\u201d Scouse DJ Lauren Lo Sung added: \u201cUnreal.\u201d<\/p>\n
